GREENFIELD — The YMCA of Greenfield will once again offer free clothing to the area’s residents during its Free Clothing Store next week.
The Y is still collecting donations of gently used clothing for distribution, and it also needs more volunteers to gather, sort and fold it all.
The clothing will be on display and open to the public in the Y’s gym in a store-like format on Oct. 5 from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. and from Oct 6 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
There’s no requirement for people to come fill a bag with whatever clothes they need, said Terry Ruggles, the Y Free Store’s outreach coordinator.
“It’s a free clothing store, we connect clothing with YMCA members and non-members, whoever wants to participate,” Ruggles said. “We do not question, we know we get a substantial number of homeless people and disadvantaged families, but no questioning of their background.”
