SOUTH DEERFIELD — From today through Wednesday, the South County Senior Center will be closed for upgrades.

Senior center Director Marlene Johnson said the reason for the building on North Main Street’s closing is to repair and replace the tile floor in the center’s large meeting room.

In an email Wednesday, Johnson said the center will officially reopen Friday.

“I am very excited about the new floor. I think it will enhance the center a great deal,” Johnson said in a statement posted on the town’s website, adding that she extends “thanks in advance for the understanding and cooperation of our region’s seniors regarding the center being closed.”

A flu vaccination clinic scheduled for Tuesday in the center has been moved to the town hall at 8 Conway St. It will be held there on the same day from 9 to 11 a.m.

Johnson said if anyone has questions they can call her at: 413-665-2141.

While the center is closed, the director said people can send her an email, which she’ll be monitoring throughout the week, at: scsc@town.deerfield.ma.us
