Arts Council applications welcome: The Charlemont-Hawley Cultural Council is looking for funding proposals for community-oriented arts, humanities, and science programs in 2017. This local cultural council has approximately $8,800 to distribute to groups and individuals planning programs in our two member towns. These grants can support a variety of artistic projects and activities in Hawley or Charlemont, including exhibits, festivals, field trips, short-term artist residencies, performances in or out of schools, workshops, books, and lectures. The deadline for applications is Monday, Oct. 17. This year for the first time applications will be accepted online, although the Charlemont-Hawley Council will continue to accept applications by mail.
