It has been my privilege to work as a part-time library assistant at the Greenfield Public Library for the last 20 months, and if I were not scheduled for surgery, I’d be there still. Patrons of the library know, and everyone in Greenfield should also know, what an absolute gem the library is.
The staff, from top to bottom, is made up of helpful, enthusiastic, smart, warm and all-around terrific people. They are always willing to do all they can to provide the fastest, most accurate and best service possible. They greet everyone with a smile and a sincere “hello.”
Their knowledge of fiction and non-fiction, children’s and adult literature, film and recorded books is encyclopedic and is a resource for all, from students to senior citizens.
They are technologically very savvy; they solve problems with computers and other devices daily with an easy grace that helps people feel comfortable and capable.
The library is working diligently to expand, in order to provide even more services to the community, and I would ask my fellow citizens to support this effort.
One way to do that is to visit and see firsthand the unparalleled excellence that is the Greenfield Public Library. I think you’ll be as impressed with the atmosphere and the professionalism of the staff as I am.
I’d like to thank the wonderful staff and the friendly, interesting patrons of the library, who have made the experience one of the most pleasant of my life.
With deepest gratitude,
Barry T. McColgan
