ATHOL — The town is using online auction site municibid.com to accept bids for the former Sanders Street School.
According to Town Manager Shaun A. Suhoski, the Athol Board of Selectmen has established a confidential minimum bid and the listing starts at $5,000. The direct link is: bit.ly/2cn4ew1
Anyone interested in acquiring the 16,800-square-foot brick building can submit bids until 2 p.m. on Oct. 24.
Suhoski said the building, which sits on a half-acre at 314 Sanders St., was originally built in 1919, with additions constructed in 1922 and 1954.
The former elementary school was vacated in June along with three other school buildings that are consolidated into Athol Community Elementary School.
