Teddy Cyr rushed for 39 yards and a touchdown and also caught a pair of passes for 12 yards to go with a two-point conversion pass to help Frontier to a 8-6 win over Palmer in a Suburban League Peewee Division football game Sunday at Converse Middle School in Palmer.
CJ Hannum rushed for 17 yards and also completed two passes for 12 yards. Lawson Landmark rushed for 49 yards and Garrett Dredge rushed for 25.
Kaden James led the defense with 10 tackles, and Jacob Rice and Landmark each made eight tackles. Hannum and Harry LaFlamme finished with five tackles apiece, Levi Pickert had four tackles and a fumble recovery, and Delaney Fifield and Dredge chipped in four tackles. Zack Haskell made three tackles and Ryan Payeur added a pair.
Bulldog Juniors roll
Luc Belhumeur rushed for 114 yards and two touchdowns and the Franklin County Bulldogs cruised to a 34-0 win over Belchertown in a Suburban League Junior Division football game Sunday at Cronk field in Belchertown.
Noah Ausikaitis added a pair of touchdowns, including one on a 50-yard interception return. Ryan Pulizari scored a touchdown and ran in a two-point conversion, and Tanner Rowe also ran in a conversion.
Belhumeur also had a big day defensively with 10 tackles and three sacks. Ausikaitis had four tackles and a sack and Joseph White had four tackles. Levin Prondecki made three tackles and recovered a fumble and James Stalens, Ian Simpson and Eric Kelly made two tackles apiece. Simpson and Kelly each forced a fumble.
Brayden Arsenault, Gabe Tomasi, David Damkoehler and Oliver Postera each made one tackle, while Alex Knapp and Eli Dresser played well defensively.
Bulldog Peewees edge O’s
Camryn Laster rushed for 91 yards and two touchdowns Sunday and the Franklin County Bulldogs topped Belchertown, 24-16, in a SL Peewee Division football game in Belchertown.
Shaun Turner added seven rushes for 126 yards and a touchdown and Tyler Yetter rushed for a 3-yard score. Zaydrien Alameda had 7 rushing yards and Caleb Johnston added 4.
Brenton Russell, Johnathan Ainsworth, Josh LaFlamme, Alex Schreiber and Seth Murray played well on the offensive line, and Logan Moore, Matthew Richotte, Payton Tierney and Aiden Dodge blocked well at tight end.
Senior Bulldogs downed
Josh Semaski rushed for 58 yards Sunday but the Franklin County Bulldogs suffered a 26-0 loss to Belchertown in a SL Senior Division football game in Belchertown.
John Semaski led the Bulldogs with nine tackles while Jason Daye had six. Aidan Oakes made four tackles, Jaaziel Cruz had three tackles and Elijah Lamagdelaine and Casey Hoffman Jr. had two apiece.
Frontier Juniors fall
Palmer built a 14-0 lead and held off Frontier for a 14-8 victory in SL Junior Division football action Sunday in Palmer.
Frontier trailed 6-0 at halftime and then gave up another touchdown in the third quarter to fall behind by two scores. Frontier came back to get a touchdown and two-point conversion at the start of the fourth quarter, and that was the first time any team has scored against the Palmer defense through three games this season.

The Deerfield Academy football team suffered a 48-41 loss to Suffield Academy Saturday in Deerfield.
Soccer
Deerfield suffered a 2-0 loss to Phillips Exeter Academy in girls’ prep soccer action Saturday in Deerfield.
• On the boys’ side, Deerfield traveled to Greenwich, Conn., Saturday and settled for a 2-2 draw with Brunswick School.
Field hockey
Deerfield fell 2-0 to Hotchkiss School in a prep field hockey game Saturday in Deerfield.
Girls’ volleyball
Hannah Holtzer and Siobhan Moore each had big days serving for Northfield Mount Hermon School during a 25-27, 25-23, 25-18, 25-15 win over Hotchkiss School in girls’ prep volleyball action Saturday at Forslund Gymnasium in Gill.
Moore finished with four aces in the win. Sahara Abizaid had seven kills for NMH, while Aria Small and Steph Voge each had six.
• Elsewhere, Deerfield fell to Sacred Heart School, 3-0.
Water polo
The Deerfield boys’ water polo team split a pair of matches Saturday, defeating Canterbury School, 15-6, but falling to Brunswick, 14-6, in Deerfield.
Cross country
Nolan Abeyta set a sophomore record at NMH as he won the race in 17 minutes to help the Hoggers to three boys’ cross country wins Saturday in Northfield.
NMH defeated Williston Northampton School (25-33), Suffield Academy (26-32) and Worcester Academy (15-50).
FCFC ties
Calvin Paddock stopped all nine shots he faced to help Franklin County FC to a 0-0 draw against New England Rush in a Under-14 Division soccer game Sunday at Deerfield Academy.
Alex Caldanero and Brady Burch each played well for FCFC.
CVRSL report
Tony Fernandez, Roscoe Palmer and Weston DenOnden each scored on Sunday to lead West County to a 3-1 win over Mount Hermon Wolves in a Connecticut River Valley Soccer League Under-11 Division game in Gill.
• In other action, Tenry Pennell, Ryan Pierce and Cynthia Velazquez scored to help Brattleboro Storm to a 5-1 win over West County.
• In Under-13 action, Ozzie Van Hendric scored twice as the Brattleboro Storm B topped the Mt. Hermon Wolves, 5-0.
Alex Lier, Ayoub Suliman and Alex Shriver each added one goal in the win.
• Also, Abby Towle, Magnus von Krusenstein, Anna Hibbard and Ryder Sullivan scored once each to lead Brattleboro Storm A to a 4-1 win over Sunderland.
Valley Storm results
Kameryn Dearborn and Brielle Widelo combined to strike out eight and the Valley Storm defeated Agawam A, 18-10, in a 12-and-under Fall Softball League game Sunday in Agawam.
Ainslee Flynn had a single and a double in the win, and Bella Benoit had a single and a triple. Jocelyn Meattey finished with three hits, and Rachel Dodge and Widelo each had two hits.
• On Saturday, Meattey and Dearborn combined on nine strikeouts as the Storm defeated Westfield II, 15-2, in Westfield.
Benoit had two hits including a double, and Abby McClaflin, McKenzie McCarthy and Widelo each had two hits.
Bucky O’Brien Scotch
Dave Kennedy and KC Finley shot a 64 to win low gross during the Bucky O’Brien Scotch Sunday at the Country Club of Greenfield.
Nate Burdick and Chris Bourbeau were second with a 70, and Jack Varner and Patrick Varner were third with a 72. Chris Ferriter and Joe Wilson were fourth with a 73, and Patrick Merrigan and Josh Harker tied Al Griffin and Mike Laga for fifth with a 74.
Mike Duclos and Roy Emerson won low net with a 63, while Mike Covey and Marty Kendrick tied Carl Hoynoski and Tim Brandl for second with a 65. Brodie Conant and Scott Cote were fourth with a 66, and Ed Pedruczny and John Wilkes tied Norm Morris and Jake Morris as well as Matt Zraunig and Alex Siano for fifth with a 67.
Fall 200 Club Shotgun
Three teams shot a 58 to tie for the win during the Fall 200 Club Shotgun over the weekend at the Country Club of Greenfield.
The teams were Jim Bassett, Dave Marquis, Mike Rau, Tammy Marquis, Jack Varner and Teresa Varner; Mike Archer, Liz Archer, John Dwyer, Cathy Dwyer, Roy Emerson and Tee Emerson; and Brian Luippold, Sue Luippold, Nate Luippold, Ashley Luippold, Norm Morris and Dr. Bill Doyle.
Two teams — Carl Hoynoski, Jodi Hoynoski, Butch Hawkins, Nancy Hawkins, Bob Provost and Jess Provost; and Brian Barton, Beth Barton, Tony Bresciano, AJ Bresciano and Dick Peel — tied for second at 59.
Mark K. Memorial finale
Jon Snow, Preston Grindle, Jayne Edwards and Don Shebeil shot an 84 to win the Mark K. Memorial Mixed Golf League final tournament over the weekend at Oak Ridge Golf Course in Gill.
Fred Llewelyn, Dave Shippa, Bob Bassett and Diane Slauenwhite were second with a 87.
Greenfield Tennis League
Brian Lamore and Andrew Varnon defeated Joe White and Jan Flaska in the Greenfield Tennis League Doubles Tournament.
Gary Gronokowski won the Greenfield Summer Tennis League Agassi Division with 199 points, while White came in second with 124 points and Rick Miner was third with 118. Bob Varnon won the Borg Division with 160 points, followed by Field Maloney (144) and Fred Range (123). Becca Bucala won the Connor Division with 62 points, while Jenna Luippold was second with a 31, and Paul Beaulieu was third with 20 points.
