I found some of the testimony at the Department of Public Utilities’ hearing about Berkshire Gas’ four-year plan interesting (“Berkshire Gas, no room for service expansion,” Aug. 31.

Sen. Stan Rosenberg wins the “talking out of both sides of your mouth” award” for this week as he opposed building a natural gas pipeline in western Massachusetts but then demands that Berkshire Gas lift the moratorium, because western Mass needs more gas for economic development

Can’t have it both ways, Stan.

Mr. Vincent DeVito needs a lesson in the geography of western Massachusetts. He cited the declining Berkshire County population as a reason there should be more natural gas available in Berkshire Gas’s territory in the Connecticut River Valley.

Don’t think the Connecticut River flows through Berkshire County.
