We received a lovely card from one of our soon-to-be aging-out children here at the Girls Club. This budding teenager came to us as a toddler when his grandparent took custody of him.

As a school-ager, he transitioned again to another relative when his grandparent died. Through it all, he stayed with our programs as a toddler, preschooler and school-aged child.

For this young fellow, the Girls Club not only provided an educational and fun environment, but, more importantly, the Girls Club provided a loving, supportive and stable home away from home.

No matter what this child encountered in his life, he knew that we were always going to be there for him.

In his note to us, he gave us tremendous credit for making him who he was today. The Girls Club, like many organizations here in this community, performs a great service to families and children.

For some, it is a life-saving service.

As the United Way of Franklin County begins its fall campaign, we extend an invitation and express a fervent wish that anyone who can provide support to the United Way will do so this year.

There are so many individuals, families and children who need our help, and the more you can help the United Way, the more organizations like the Girls Club can help your community.
