Grandparents Day Bike Path Bingo — Sept. 11 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Kids bring grandparents out for a stroll along the Rail Trail, where they discover and explore the natural surroundings with a game of Bike Path Bingo. There will be stops along the trail to learn some fun facts. All ages welcome with grandparents or guardians.
It’s Your River — Sept. 17 from 1 to 2 p.m. Join the Connecticut River Watershed Council’s Executive Director Andrew Fisk to explore the past, present and future of the Connecticut River. Learn about its biology, law, engineering and hydrology. Learn about the successes and failures to improve the river and watershed.
Canal Drawdown and Powertown History Stroll — Sept. 22 from 5 to 7 p.m. Take a stroll with local historian Ed Gregory, Janel Nockleby and Kim Noyes to discover the rich industrial history along the Canalside Rail Trail. Wear walking shoes and meet at the entrance of the center for the 2-mile walk. Register at 800-859-2960

Conservacion Panama Presents, “New England Migratory Birds in Panama: Conservation Research,” at Greenfield Public Library on Main Street in Greenfield on Sept. 12 from 6 to 7 p.m. For the last few years, Conservacion Panama, a U.S. nonprofit, has studied the winter habitat of migrant bird species. Come learn about tropical conservation initiatives which strike at home, even here in Greenfield. Conservacion Panama’s executive director, Ezekiel Jakub, a Greenfield native, will talk about the organization, what it does and how it connects to Massachusetts, New England and beyond.
