SHELBURNE — Saturday marks the 70th Shelburne Grange Fair, an end-of-summer celebration of the fruits of local farms, arts and crafts and local performers. The event takes place Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Fellowship Hall, 17 Little Mohawk Road, off Route 2 in Shelburne Center. Admission is free.

Favorite traditions include a flea market, children’s games, a corn-husking competition, a chicken barbecue and the Pocket Lady, who carries children’s toys and games in 30 deep apron pockets. For the price of a children’s game ticket, children can select a pocket and get a prize.

New this year is an 11:30 a.m. demonstration on panning for gold, and karaoke for everyone starting at 3:30. The Exhibit Hall features food and art exhibits. The 4:30 p.m. auction is for fresh local vegetables, baked goods and donated exhibits.

Other highlights are the 4H Pedal Tractor Pull, Birds of Prey with Tom Ricardi, Weavers Guild of Springfield from 11 to 3 p.m., chicken barbecue from noon to 1:30 p.m., storytime with Kristie at 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. and Magic by Jonas at 2:30 p.m.
