Matt Luippold went 3-for-3 with a home run Saturday to power Kustom Auto Body to the 2016 Montague Co-Rec Adult Softball League slo-pitch championship with a 9-7 victory over St. Stanislaus Society at Unity Park I in Turners Falls.
Jake Coburn and Sam Parker each finished with two hits, including a home run, in the win. Amber Coburn added two hits.
Chris Kalinowski and Kramer Patenaude homered in the loss.
• Earlier on Saturday, Joe Gamache belted a walk-off, two-run home run to decide Kustom’s 21-20 win over St. Stan’s that sent it to the finals.
St. Stan’s held a 20-19 lead before Mackenzie Coburn reached on a throwing error with two outs, setting the table for Gamache, who ended it with a bomb over the fence. Stan’s went into the losers’ bracket and won to get back to the championship game of the double-elimination tournament but came up short.
Luippold went 4-for-4 with a home run in the win, and Dan Prasol, Coburn and Rissa Smith each had three hits.
Kalinowski homered and tripled in the loss. Kelly Markol added four hits.
Glowing-Balls title
KC Finley, Brodie Conant, Matt Zraunig and Chris McElligot shot a 33 to win low gross during the 2016 Glowing Balls Championship at the Country Club of Greenfield Saturday.
Dennis Booska, Tim Farrell, Jamie Crocker and Mike Johnson also shot a 33 to finish second, while Mike Hall, Ricky Adams, Clint McCloud and Chris Varilly came in third with a 36.
Cam Merrigan, Tory Buck, Alex Towne and Jon Atkins won low net with a 32. Vinnie Melendez, Bob Ferris, Dick Golosh and Sharon Rawson were second with a 34, and Adam Wroblewski, Andy Wroblewski, Matt Llewelyn and Josh Harker were third with a 35.
Par 3 Championship
Jason Kelton won the Rio De Janiero Flight of the 2016 Par 3 Championship at the Country Club of Greenfield Sunday.
Jack Varner finished second with a 55. Jeff Jackman and Tom Herzig tied for third at 58.
Cam Merrigan and Brian Luippold each shot a 60 to win the London Flight, while Patrick Varner, Bill Smith and Bill Luippold all tied for third at 61.
Dave McDonald and Mitchell Parker tied atop the Athens Flight with a 62. Gordon Parker was third at 63.
Rich Fahey won the Atlanta Flight with a 62, while Kevin Courtney came in second at 68, and Tom McDonald was third with a 70. Dale Parda won the BeiJing Flight with a 57, Matt Pitoniak came in second with a 60. Norm Morris was third with a 61.
John Cormican won the Sydney Flight at 61, while Keith Schempp and Forbes Byron tied for second with a 62. Teresa Varner won the Barcelona Flight with a 55, and Phyllis Canon was second with a 59. Sherry Chaffee won the Seoul Flight with a 65, and Sue Plante was second with a 66.
Barb Killeen and Dianne Wood tied for the Los Angeles Flight with a 68. Sue McDonald won the Montreal Flight with a 68, and TC Emerson was second with a 73.
EDGE tournament
The 10th annual Edge Basketball Golf Tournament will be held Sept. 17 at Northfield Golf Course.
Entry fee for the 9 a.m. shotgun start event is $260 per team and includes 18 holes of golf with a cart, food on the course throughout the day, prizes and a post-tournament meal and prizes.

Franklin County Technical School has announced practice times for all fall sports.
There is a mandatory informational meeting on Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. in the gymnasium at the school. All parents and prospective student athletes must attend. Players will receive mandatory information on school and MIAA policies and procedures, and there will be a mandatory session on concussion safety, as well as a presentation about health risks.

Pioneer fall sports
Pioneer Valley Regional School hads announced dates for fall sports and other information:
Football practice (all levels) will be held today from 8:30 to 11 a.m., Monday from 3 to 6 p.m. and Tuesday from 2:30 to 5 p.m.
On Tuesday at 5:30 p.m., the schol will host Team Night for all sports and levels. Athletes, parents and coaches are encouraged to attend. The Northwestern District Attorney’s Office will be presenting, and there will be a Meet the Coach so parents can receive their child’s team and season information.
On Thursday, practices begin for all other fall sports and levels. Practice times will be announced at Team Night.
• Pioneer is also seeking coaches for the following positions: middle school girls’ soccer, junior varsity volleyball.
Cookie Bowl
The 26th annual Cookie Bowl Canoe/Kayak/SUP Race will be held Friday at the Stockbridge Bowl.
Registration is at the Boat Ramp at 5 p.m. The race will start at 6pm. Entry fee is $10 per paddler.
Racers should be sure that their boats are zebra mussel free. Any boats that have been in infested waters must be cleaned before entering the lake.

Maynard 5-miler
The 22nd annual Don Maynard Memorial 5-Mile Road Race and 3-mile walk will held Sept. 17 at 9:30 a.m. at the Greenfield Municipal Swimming Area.
