Absentee ballots available for state primary

WENDELL — Absentee ballots are now available at the Town Clerk’s Office for the Sept. 8 State Primary. The deadline to apply for an absentee ballot is noon on Sept. 7.

To vote absentee, you must be absent from town during polling hours, have a physical disability or a religious belief that prohibits you from being at the polls. All absentee ballots must be returned to the Clerk’s office by the close of the polls on Sept. 8. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Registered voters who belong to any one of the four parties, Democratic, Republican, Green Rainbow or United Independent, must vote their party affiliation. Unenrolled voters can choose any one of the four ballots.

Voter registration deadline Aug. 19

WENDELL — The last day to register to vote for the State Primary on Sept. 8 is Friday, Aug. 19. A special voter registration session will be held on this day in the office of the Town Clerk from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 8 p.m. at 9 Morse Village Road in Wendell.

The Town Clerk Office is also open from 9 a.m. to noon on Fridays. You can also register by mail, or at the Registry of Motor Vehicles. If you have recently moved to Wendell, or changed your address in Wendell, you must also register to vote. If you want to change your party affiliation, you must meet the Aug. 19 deadline.
