ASHFIELD — A new documentary film, “The Occupation of the American Mind: Israel’s Public Relations War in the United States,” will be shown at the First Congregational Church on Wednesday.

The film is narrated by Roger Waters, Pink Floyd musician and activist. The film says the Israeli government, the U.S. government and pro-Israel lobbying groups have used public relations campaigns to manage political fallout from Israel’s occupation of Palestinian land.

The evening begins with a Middle Eastern dinner, starting at 6 p.m. Those coming for dinner are asked to make reservations by calling 413-628-3951. There is a suggested free-will donation for the meal of $10.

The film will be shown free to all at 7 p.m. Sut Jhally, founder and producer of the Northampton-based Media Education Foundation films, will lead a discussion after the movie.

The event is presented by Kairos/Franklin County Justice for Palestine at the Traprock Center for Peace and Justice.
