7:24 p.m. — Officer speaking with a resident on Eunice Williams Drive, where the resident reported people urinating in the river, loud music and littering; the reporting person also says they are writing a letter to the mayor and the water department about this ongoing issues.

9:05 p.m. — Larceny reported from Taco Bell on the Mohawk Trail where the reporting person states his bicycle was stolen from this location between 3 and 8 p.m. today; it was described as a red “Giant” brand bicycle with a broken front fork on the end; the reporting person is hoping his bicycle is found as it is his transportation to and from work, but he acknowledges that he didn’t have his bicycle locked.

9:21 p.m. — Suspicious activity reported from School Street by a person who stated there is a person that lives on the third floor, outside, naked; officer spoke with the reporting person who reported his upstairs neighbor had been walking outside on his attached porch and fire escape stairs (a common area) with just a towel around his waist; the reporting person wanted his neighbor arrested because of this; the officer spoke to the neighbor who admitted to being out on his own attached porch with a towel around his waist, after showering, and wanting to cool off; he stated the reporting person started yelling and screaming at him, and threatening to harm him if he didn’t go inside; the officer explained to the reporting person that no crime was committed by the upstairs neighbor, and in fact, the only crime committed was by the reporting person in threatening to harm the other person; the officer advised the other person that it might not be good idea to stand outside in just a towel, especially in such a thickly settled neighborhood, and he agreed to monitor himself more closely in the future; the reporting person wasn’t satisfied with the outcome of this call.

Greenfield, Aug. 10

12:53 a.m. — Despondent person reported on Pierce Street where the caller says the wife is having a manic episode and needs to get to a hospital; Medcare is en route; the female was transported to Baystate Franklin Medical Center for evaluation.

1:23 a.m. — Officer checking on a vehicle at Hillside Park off Conway Street, found the Dodge Dakota occupied times two; they were playing Pokémon; they were moved along.

10:06 a.m. — Caller from Duren Drive reports people outside her house that want to sell everything she owns, and put her in a nursing home; officers sent; Lifepath Protective Service worker is trying to check on a client who has been writing checks to scams for thousands of dollars; the client is refusing the service worker access to check on her; officer discussed the situation, and the worker was able to meet with the client while the officer stood by.

12:22 p.m. — Breaking and entering reported on Washington Street; officers responded, and found it not as reported; new owners of the residence were identified. Officer speaking with a neighbor after hearing some unrelated yelling next door to the Washington Street address; no issues found.

2:39 p.m. — Accident on the Interstate 91 rotary, two vehicles, but no injuries reported; officer facilitated with paper work exchange.

8:11p.m. — Officer issuing a citation for no rear red light on a bicycle in violation of an ordinance; more bylaw violations issued during the evening for bicycle bylaws; two males were then advised of riding laws and were given copies of the law. One officer backed up another officer earlier when there was a city ordinance violation near Main and Miles streets, and the officer stood by for an unruly crowd.

11:49 p.m. — Disturbance reported near the pumping station on Eunice Williams Drive where the reporting person states she can hear people yelling down the hill, but the reporting person doesn’t believe anyone is in trouble, just hanging out in the area; officer found two males hiding under the bridge, and officers still looking for others; all were then located, and moved along, after being advised of trespassing after hours.

Greenfield, Aug. 11

6:23 a.m. — Fraud was reported when a person on Colrain Road spoke of a call that she had received last night that she believes is a scam; the reporting person received a message from a male claiming to be from the U.S. Treasury Department; the message said she needed to call them back, or they would take legal action against her; the reporting person was advised that we, the department, are aware of these calls, and advised the reporting person not to call them back.

6:37 a.m. — Another call, similar to the previous call, with the same phone number reported from Eliza Lane, where the caller said it was an automated voice stating they were from the IRS; the caller was advised this is a scam; the caller didn’t provide any personal information.

8:22 a.m. — Suspicious activity at Rodeway Inn on the Mohawk Trail where a caller stated she stayed there last night, and found drugs in one of the drawers, and beer cans under the bed; the reporting person noticed in one of the drawers was a small amount of white powder in the corner and also what she believed to be the small remnants of marijuana; she complained about the conditions of the room to the clerk, but never mentioned the possible drugs; the reporting person has since left the hotel and is traveling to Maine.
