Looking to adopt a small pet that’s not a dog or cat?

Adoption fees for small animals at Dakin Humane Society will be reduced by half on Saturday at its Springfield and Leverett Adoption Centers.

“Super Small Saturday” will take place from 12:30 to 5:30 p.m. in Springfield and 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. in Leverett.

Based on availability, small animals ready to be adopted include rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets, hamsters, rats, mice, gerbils and birds. Dakin’s animal care specialists will be on hand to help people choose which pet might be best for them.

People interested in viewing available pets at Dakin Humane Society at any time may visit: www.dakinhumane.org/adopt-a-pet.html#!/ for an up-to-the-minute listing of adoptable animals in both Springfield and Leverett.

Dakin Humane Society shelters, treats and fosters more than 20,000 animals each year and has performed more than 69,000 spay/neuter surgeries since 2009, making it New England’s largest spay/neuter provider.
