An immature little blue heron continues to be seen in Sheffield, and one or two little blue herons have been found in Longmeadow.
Also present in Longmeadow were up to three snowy egrets and 40 great egrets.
The pair of sandhill cranes and a single young continue in Worthington.
A lesser scaup continues to be seen at the southern end of the Quabbin Reservoir, and whimbrel was seen in flight over the reservoir.
A black-crowned night-heron continues to be reported in Springfield’s Forest Park.
Uncommon species reported include common merganser, common loon, green heron, double-crested cormorant, American bittern, black vulture, osprey, northern harrier, Cooper’s hawk, broad-winged hawk, red-shouldered hawk, peregrine falcon, merlin, Virginia rail, semipalmated plover, greater yellowlegs, solitary sandpiper, least sandpiper and semipalmated sandpiper.
Plus yellow and black-billed cuckoo, whip-poor-will, willow flycatcher, alder flycatcher, cliff swallow, horned lark, marsh wren, Louisiana waterthrush, northern waterthrush, Canada warbler, eastern meadowlark, orchard oriole, pine siskin and evening grosbeak.
