LEYDEN — Pearl Rhodes Elementary School will reopen for classes in late August with a new and improved look following summertime renovations.
According to Principal Deanna Leblanc, the school has received all new concrete sidewalks, improved handicap access, new tile in the cafeteria and new paint in the hallways, office and cafeteria.
“The interior work is being (funded) by the school district and the exterior work is being (funded) by the town,” Leblanc said.
Leblanc added that she will hold open office hours on Aug. 8 from 9 to 11:30 a.m. and Aug. 15 from 4 to 7 p.m. She invites current parents as well as parents who are considering sending their children to Pearl Rhodes to come.
“They’ll get to see all the upgrades to Pearl Rhodes and get to meet the new principal,” she said. Leblanc was named the new principal in early July.
