DEERFIELD — Visitors to Historic Deerfield can get into the museum free Friday as part of a statewide program aiming to draw people to cultural institutions.

The museum will be open from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for its Free Fun Friday installment, which will feature attractions from face painting to an open hearth cooking demonstration, according to a press release from the museum. Visitors should stop at a ticketing center along Old Main Street before entering.

The Free Fun Fridays program, a project of the Highland Street Foundation, is in its eighth year, according to its website. This year, it’s offering free admission to 80 museums, zoos, state parks and other venues statewide over the course of 10 Fridays.
