ATHOL — Kessler Investments Inc. invites the public to its open house and community shredding event at 2070 Main St. today.
The event lasts from 9 a.m. to noon. People will be able to shred up to three boxes of confidential documents at no cost. There is no need to remove staples, paper clips and rubber bands.
ORANGE — The North Quabbin Community Coalition’s Substance Abuse Prevention Task Force is hosting National Night Out in Orange, Athol and Petersham on Tuesday.
The events, which last from 6 to 8 p.m., will be held at Butterfield Park on East River Street in Orange, 336 Main St. in Athol and on the common in Petersham.
The events will include free hot dogs, lemonade, music, games and more.
According to its website, National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign promoting police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie.
ORANGE — The Fiscal Year 2017 sewer rate public hearing is scheduled for Wednesday. The meeting is slated to start at 6:15 p.m. for other business and the hearing begins at 6:30. It is scheduled to be held in the Ruth B. Smith Auditorium of Orange Town Hall.
ORANGE — The Board of Selectmen granted an off-premise/wines and malt beverages license for Sami’s Mart at 426 East River St.

ATHOL — Visit Municibid.com to see Athol’s out-of-service Gamewell Fire Alarm Boxes up for auction. There is also a Survivair self-contained breathing apparatus up for auction. The auction closes Aug. 11 at 10 a.m.
