Democratic state Senate candidate Andrea Harrington has been endorsed by the Massachusetts Women’s Political Caucus.

Harrington, one of three Democrats seeking the Berkshire Franklin Hampshire Hampden seat being vacated by Sen. Ben Downing, said, “I am honored to have the Mass Women’s Political Caucus supporting my campaign for State Senate. I am running for office to be a bold, progressive voice for western Massachusetts, and I look forward to working with residents across the district on the issues that matter to us.”

The Richmond lawyer added, “I am committed to fighting for important causes like pay equity, paid family leave, and universal pre-K. I will be a tireless advocate for our communities as we work to combat the opioid epidemic, invest in public education, and develop comprehensive strategies to promote environmental sustainability and create jobs for our region.”

The district includes the Franklin County towns of Ashfield, Conway, Shelburne, Buckland, Charlemont, Hawley, Heath, Rowe and Monroe.

Harrington has also been endorsed by Western Massachusetts Carpenters Union Local 108 and SEIU Local 888.
