9:52 p.m. — Despondent person on Chapman Street requesting an ambulance ride to Baystate Franklin Medical Center, Medcare notified; Clinical and Support Options also called to advise he would be calling for a ride to the hospital; Medcare had the person in the ambulance on officer’s arrival; he was under control and wanted to be transported to the medical center.

Montague, July 6

12:10 a.m. — Report of a hit-and-run accident on Turners Falls Road where she was rear ended on the Greenfield side of the bridge, and the vehicle left in the direction of Turners; unable to locate.

12:23 p.m. — 911 call was made for the Turners Falls Fire Department, by Shelburne Control to be sent to West Orange Road for manpower with a fire in that area.

6:22 p.m. — Report of a possible water main break in area of J Street; officer confirmed water coming up out of the ground and attempted to call the water department, but a message was left; dispatch then spoke with water superintendent who will check on this.

9:30 p.m. — Suspicious auto reported in the parking lot for Southworth Paper Co. Employees report a vehicle, with its lights on, has been in their lot for the last half hour, and they don’t believe it’s an employee; officer spoke with the operator and she said she had been out for a walk, and is now going home; no indication of any other issues going on.

Orange, July 6

11:13 a.m. — Report of a fire in the basement of the former Oriental House Restaurant on West Orange Road, Route 2A; all units were dispatched, on arrival all the people on scene were out of the building and accounted for; Route 2A and Route 78 were shut down, and traffic detoured for three hours, several units from other towns arrived to help, or man the station; cause was under investigation.

3:50 p.m. — Reporting person states she believes her car was dented while parked at Wal-Mart; officer sent, and damage noted to the driver’s side door; requested loss prevention service to review the parking lot camera, and will follow up on this next shift.

4:34 p.m. — Traffic stop on East Main Street where the operator was wearing headphones and the operator was issued a warning.

Greenfield, July 7

8:47 a.m. — Report of two-vehicle accident at the Weldon House lot on High Street, but no injuries reported; information was exchanged.

9:39 a.m. — Caller was unable to make contact with an officer yesterday and is very concerned with the threats the female person made toward another female, and the police chief; she was advising that he did witness her with a 9 mm handgun and told her that she had to get that out of his house, and to move out; caller states that the female comes out this way frequently; officer spoke to the reporting person and was given the full story; contacted Worcester Police in regards to report that (named person) in possession of a handgun, and with an active 209a against her; information given to a Worcester detective.

10:28 a.m. — Larceny reported at the Weldon apartments, where the caller says his neighbor used his debit card, and withdrew $300 from his account; the reporting person advised he loaned the card to the neighbor to get beer from the Wine Rack, and the reporting person says that this happened Sunday morning; the reporting person is waiting for a bank statement to confirm removal of the money.

10:58 a.m. — Disturbance on Main Street at Fiske Avenue, from where a driver passing by states there is a fight at the bench near Miles Street; officer arrived on scene and found a large group; no fight on arrival; parking attendant states she was issuing a citation and heard a commotion and what sounded like someone being hit; everyone else in the area states they saw nothing; no victim coming forward at this time.

11:24 a.m. — Officer was flagged down on Chapman Street near Smitty’s Pub with somebody claiming to be the victim of a recent assault; on follow-up call, the officer was approached by an individual who reports he was hit in the incident at the bench on Main Street; a photo of the subject’s left cheek was taken; the person wants to press charges as this is an ongoing problem with another individual; the officer attempted to locate that person but wasn’t in the area; still under investigation.

11:48 a.m. — Another officer was flagged down at Main and Miles streets by someone stating there is another fight or disturbance there; passerby states there are two women yelling at each other, and a male is getting involved; on officer’s arrival, no one was yelling and no physical altercation.

11:55 a.m. — Larceny reported on Arch Street where the caller states that her daughter stole a “time sheet” from the caller and is trying to get paid when she didn’t work; the reporting person says her daughter stole money from her account and got paid by the company when she didn’t work; the reporting person is trying to obtain bank accounts, plus time sheet from PCA company; report issued.

11:59 a.m. — Report from Clinical Support Options on Arch Street that the witness saw a silver Jeep back into a silver Prius: the driver got out, looked at the damage, and then took off; report issued.

12:32 p.m. — Accident at the Interstate 91 rotary, two vehicles, but no injuries reported; one vehicle had to be towed; report filed.

2:03 p.m. — Caller from Cheapside Street reports a tractor-trailer unit hit the bridge to Montague City Road, then backed up, and left; debris is still in the road; services rendered.

8:22 p.m. — Caller from Bradford Drive states she had a call from someone saying that they were raising money for, “sheriff and police association,” for fallen officers; the reporting person didn’t know if we were raising money or if it was a scam; the reporting person is concerned that an elderly person will be taken advantage of, and would like it logged.

Montague, July 7

8:25 a.m. — Caller from Dell Street requests advice on how to remove a baby skunk from the window well of a house that she is looking after while the owners are away; the reporting person isn’t at the residence at this time; dispatch advised the ACO, and he will call the reporting person.

9:02 a.m. — Vandalism reported on Third Street where powder was strewn inside the victim’s motor vehicle that was parked in the driveway behind the residence; officer responded.

12:42 p.m. — Assault reported from Millers Pub on East Main Street in Millers Falls where the reporting person advises he has left the area, but he was just threatened by (named person) and the male pulled a gun on the reporting person, but unknown if the gun was real; the male also threatened him with brass knuckles, and keyed the reporting person’s car; the reporting person declined any medical attention and advised a friend was with him who witnessed the whole thing; he was requested to come to the police station to speak with an officer, and he said he would be en route to the station; investigation leads to arrest of Lawrence George Welcome, 23, of South Prospect Street, Millers Falls, charged with two counts of assault with a dangerous weapon, two counts of threatening to commit a crime, and one charge of carrying a dangerous weapon. Officers investigating had located some items, one in a house, and searching for another near the bridge near the paper mill. Bail was set at $2,500 plus the fee.

Orange, July 7

8:25 a.m. — National Grid notified police that power went out in the Daniel Shays Highway area at 7:50 a.m. due to a transformer issue; they estimate power to be restored at around 10 a.m.

9:19 p.m. — A reporting person that came into the station stated he found some drugs on the sidewalk on East River Street; the drugs were placed in the drug locker.

1:06 p.m. — Caller reports a large branch on wires on East Road, Orange Highway Department notified.

1:44 p.m. — Reporting person came into the station with a 9-year-old boy she found on Daniel Shay’s Highway where he was trying to flag down cars; an officer spoke with the juvenile, and at the same time Athol Police got a call from the mom saying her son had run off; EMS was requested to check the child due to the heat of the day, and APD transported the mom to our station.

Greenfield, July 8

1:33 a.m. — Traffic stop on Elm Street at Sullivan Lane; officer then has one person in custody; investigation leads to arrest of Ryan S. Trenholm, 32, of Leyden Road, Greenfield, charged with operating under the influence of liquor, third offense, marked lanes violation, and negligent operation of a motor vehicle.

1:38 a.m. — Disturbance at Seymour on Bank Row where the reporting person states the involved person was acting aggressively and the reporting person says that the individual was told his friend was not allowed in, because the bar locks up at 1 a.m., and after that she stated the involved male threw a beer across the room and broke the glass; the reporting person would like the male trespassed from that location, and also advises that the individual left his phone in the bar, too; no charges sought by the employee, the trespass form was filled out, and is to be delivered for signature later in the day.

2:59 a.m. — Breaking and entering into a motor vehicle, reported on Washington Street where the reporting person states that someone had entered his vehicle, taking two wallets and a checkbook, the reporting person has gone through the vehicle, and the doors were unlocked, the reporting person states he believes this happened within the last couple of hours; officer to investigate.

8:18 a.m. — Larceny reported at Lilac Court where the reporting person stated that one of his contractors had some tools stolen last night; officers investigating.

Montague, July 8

2:05 a.m. — A 911 caller from area of Cabot Woods near the high tension line, from where the male caller says he is camping in the woods off Migratory Way, and he was awakened by some large animal outside his tent, and the same was growling, and getting close to the tent, and he is concerned for his safety; the male remained on the phone to help guide officers in, and they located the male, but found no animals in the area; the male was advised of options.

10:08 a.m. — Larceny reported on Coolidge Avenue where the caller says someone has been stealing his mail from his box; officer returned the call, but only got the voicemail.
