Pleaded guilty to negligent operation of a motor vehicle, in Greenfield, sentenced to six months in the house of correction, suspended, placed on probation until 1/7/17, with loss of license for 60 days, plus head-injury assessment of $250, victim witness assessment of $50, and must take and complete the driver safety course and pay the fee. Pleaded guilty to operating with suspended license, subsequent offense, sentenced to six months in the house of correction, suspended, placed on probation until 1/7/17 concurrent with the first count and with the same conditions of taking the driver safety course. Robert N, Howe, 87, of Hinsdale, N.H. Charges of motor vehicle homicide by negligent operation of a motor vehicle, and violation of state highway regulations, in Bernardston, were not prosecuted, as according to a written statement from a counsel in the district attorney’s office, the defendant has been determined to be not competent due to dementia. He will not ever again regain competency. The Commonwealth has confirmed that he no longer is licensed to drive in any state, but is unable to prosecute this case.

Lawrence G. Welcome, 23, of South Prospect Street, Millers Falls. Pleaded innocent to two charges of assault with a dangerous weapon, to wit, a handgun in both charges, threatening to commit a crime, to wit, assault and battery in both charges, and carrying a dangerous weapon, to wit, a BB gun, released on personal recognizance, must comply with Harassment Prevention Order, must stay 50 yards away from two named people, and must have no abuse of alleged victims, continued to 8/3/16 for pretrial conference. Admitted to sufficient facts for negligent operation of a motor vehicle, in Northfield, and sufficient facts found, but continued without a finding until 7/7/17 with head-injury assessment of $250, and victim-witness assessment of $50. Found not responsible for speeding. Charge of operating under the influence of liquor, was not prosecuted, as according to a written statement from a counsel in the district attorney’s office, the suppression of the breath test result has significantly decreased the ability of the Commonwealth to meet its burden of proof. Must pay $150 legal counsel fee. Must pay $50 per month probation supervision fee.

Susanah Teluwo, 30, of Amherst. Pleaded innocent to possession of a Class E drug, to wit, Adderal, and intimidating a witness, a juror, police or court official, in Deerfield, released on personal recognizance, continued to 8/25/16 for pretrial conference. Must pay $150 legal counsel fee.
