GREENFIELD — The Hangar Pub and Grill, including a Wings Over Greenfield, has finally taken flight.

The look of the Federal Street eatery is a long way from the carpeted walls and relish trays of Famous Bill’s restaurant.

The circular granite bar remains from the building’s most recent tenant, the Ocean Grill & Steak House, but some of the walls have been removed to make it a more open space.

The restaurant opened Thursday with little fanfare, although a small crowd had gathered outside the front door late Friday morning waiting for it to open for lunch.

Owner Harold Tramazzo, who also owns Wings Over Amherst and The Hangar Pub and Grill in Amherst, could not be reached for comment Friday, and the store manager was also unavailable.

The new Greenfield location features a Wings Over pickup counter and a full restaurant, including a large bar and booth seating. It is open from 11:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday and Sunday; 11:30 a.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday; and 4 to 11 p.m. Monday.

Signs on the door and window said the restaurant is hiring delivery drivers, cooks and dishwashers.

The Wings Over delivery service was founded in Amherst in 1999 and has more than three dozen stores in 12 states.
