Greenfield, June 28

11:18 a.m. — Malicious destruction of property reported on Devens Street where the reporting person states that some people were on his property taking things that he believes they had permission to be taking, but they destroyed his weather station in the process; officer to investigate, and found the $109 weather station was removed from storage area by a group of people removing items from a former business; it was dropped accidentally, but unknown people are involved at this time; still under investigation.

1:35 p.m. — Accident on Federal Street near Lundgren Honda facility; two cars involved, minor damage, no injuries reported; services rendered.

2:01 p.m. — Accident at the Federal and Beacon streets intersection where a pedestrian/scooter operator drove into the passengers side of a bus in the crosswalk; following investigation, the pedestrian/scooter operator says he didn’t want any type of report, nor action, and insisted that it wasn’t the bus operator’s fault; the bus operator reported no damage to the bus, and the pedestrian/scooter operator also reported no damage, nor any injuries; reports were documented and operators were advised. A Franklin Regional Transit Authority bus was on scene and officer requested they notify him with any additional information obtained through the bus camera recording.

2:39 p.m. — Larceny on Power Square where the caller says money was taken from his wallet by a female who is known to him; and said that $90 was stolen; officer located the female who stated she had nothing to do with the theft, but did say she was there to request a ride and try to borrow money; the reporting person was advised of the situation, and he said he would contact the officer to give further information in regards to the next step to take.

3:14 p.m. — Larceny reported where the walk-in at station says medication was stolen from his backpack after he left it on the benches by Antonio’s Pizza; in the backpack was $40, and his wife’s seizure medication; the subject was looking for documentation regarding the theft to fill prescriptions in case of emergency.

4:25 p.m. — Accident on Federal Street; two vehicles were involved and found to be a minor rear-end collision, no injuries in the first vehicle; the operator of the second vehicle stated that his back was sore, but refused any medical treatment; officers assisted with information exchange; citation was issued to operator of vehicle one for failure to use care in stopping.

4:54 p.m. — Elderly phone scam surrounding a known caller having an accident in Worcester and needing $2,000 sent immediately; he was advised of scam.

4:59 p.m. — Erratic operations reported on the Mohawk Trail where a vehicle was reported operating erratically at Home Depot and the caller spoke to the driver, whom, he said, was stumbling and smelled of alcohol; the vehicle was gone on arrival of police.

6 p.m. — Fraud reported on Water Street where the reporting person said that a known male had stayed with her at her residence for the past six months as a tenant; the reporting person states that her brother provided the man with about $4,000 to buy supplies for work to be done on the house, and also paid $1,000 up front for the labor; the named male took the money and did some shoddy work at the home, and made purchases at Home Depot, but returned the merchandise and kept the money; he has since not been able to be reached, his phone numbers have been disconnected; upon looking up the male’s criminal record, the officer found the male had numerous charges related to fraud, theft and forgery; the officer contacted the house of correction to ask if they had an previous address and they provided an address in Newport, Vt., and then contacted Montague Police to see if they had an previous addresses, and they provided an Avenue A location. After investigating, the officer then advised the reporting person that the incident was a civil matter, because it was a breach of contract, and advised her to let her brother know to go to civil court with the case.

7:23 p.m. — Report of a carbon monoxide alarm sounding on Carpenter’s Lane; Fire Department responding.

7:45 p.m. — A 911 call from CVS pharmacy stating there is an irate male who verbally assaulted the pharmacist due to an insurance issue; the male was described, and responding officers located the man who was irate over some medications not being covered by insurance; the man was calmed, and left on foot without issue; peace was restored.

Montague, June 28

11:38 a.m. — Reporting person calling from Greenfield Road saw someone get out of a blue Subaru and take photos of her neighbor’s residence; the reporting person is a friend of the neighbor, and isn’t aware of anyone that is supposed to be taking photos; officer checked the perimeter and checked the area but unable to locate the vehicle or subject.

4:42 p.m. — Larceny reported on Avenue A in an apartment building where the home-care provider was calling on another person’s behalf; the building maintenance called in to advise he had already been to the apartment and changed the locks; officer was advised.

5:49 p.m. — A reporting person said a small, yellow car pulled into the parking lot and was blowing doughnuts, then drove all the way around Sheffield Elementary School; the reporting person isn’t sure if any damage was caused, but the same vehicle did this a few days ago; the reporting person snapped a few pictures with his phone and was able to see the plate clearly; the reporting person then wanted police to know it left the area; officer was advised.

6:32 p.m. — Caller from Foster’s Road says she came upon a baby deer on the side of the road on Route 47; the reporting person stated the deer appeared to be injured and was possibly laying in a pool of blood, but is still alive; officer arrived, and said he had to put down the fawn.

7:43 p.m. — Reporting person requested to put it on record that his son has threatened to kick in his door; the son is having problem with his girlfriend and stated that when he returns he will kick in the door; the reporting person doesn’t believe he will do this, but he wanted it on record; the reporting person was advised to contact police right away should this son return with any ongoing trouble.

9:05 p.m. — Loud noise disturbance reported from Lake Pleasant Road where the reporting person is advising of a loud bang heard near the railroad tracks, toward the lake; a second call came in reporting the same; officer dispatched and checked the area but nothing suspicious found.

Greenfield, June 29

1:05 a.m. — Reporting person states she sees a few people sitting on the steps by the furniture store at Main and Miles street smoking and drinking and causing a disturbance; officers found no drinking and they were advised of the complaint, and were dispersed.

2:03 a.m. — Caller from Seymour bar on Bank Row; states that earlier in the night there was a male sitting across the street on a bench and was acting kind of strange, and she would like an officer to walk her to her car; an officer escorted her to the vehicle.

2:28 a.m. — Caller from Riverside Drive reports that she has somebody outside her house who has been stabbed, and the reporting person stated it was a male who had a facial injury; the reporting person is unsure who attacked him; the reporting person then says that another person was stabbed in their back; one male was described as wearing a white wife beater; the reporting person then stated a male was going to hit someone named “Hector and was called his “son,” the reporting person then advised the police were on the scene. Medcare contacted to stage nearby; officer then requested state police or Montague to respond, Montague copied direct; the reporting person states that a male had just been stabbed and needs an ambulance; officer then states they need a second ambulance for a second stab injury to the stomach and face; officer then made calls to request two day shift officer to come in, and they will respond; officers now investigating but no charges made at this time.

2:59 a.m. — Two officers from Montague later responded to check a person reported to be looking into and around cars on Deerfield Street; four vehicles involved; started when a reporting person stated a male was walking down the street trying to open car doors and was looking under a vehicle; she yelled out to him to ask why he was touching her car, and he said he was looking for his cat; he was described as a white male wearing dark clothes and wearing a black back pack. An officer asked to inform Deerfield Police of the situation as well; the Montague officers cleared after checking with owners of four cars and they said nothing was missing and the subject wasn’t located; they will fax over information relating to the call.

7:21 a.m. — Two males were taken into custody at the police station where they arrived following a stop at the hospital; arrested was Sandy Moya, 42, of Riverside Drive, Greenfield, charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon; a juvenile was also arrested and charged.

Montague, June 29

1:45 a.m. — Employee from Cumberland Farms reports a person went into the bathroom a half-hour ago and hasn’t come out; no response when the employee knocked on the door. Officer located the female, but no paraphernalia found; however, there were indications of recent drug use, and she was sent on her way; no obvious impairment.

3:10 a.m. — Officer assisted Greenfield with a report of a male checking car doors on Deerfield Street, two vehicles possibly entered but when they contacted the owners, nothing appeared to be missing; officers notified Greenfield where they were tied up with a stabbing situation.

7:30 a.m. — Reporting person delivers morning papers and while on his route, he observed a dead rabbit under the wiper of a vehicle parked in front a Highland Circle; officer advised.

8:02 a.m. — Report from the Ja’Duke Center for Performing Arts on Industrial Boulevard, where a bear just crossed the parking lot and is now in the woods but the reporting person was concerned the bear would come back out of the woods; Environmental Police dispatch advised they would alert their officers, but unsure at that time if the Environmental Police Officer headed to Montague would be tied up in a meeting; Montague officer was advised.
