Hello neighbor.
Our neighbor Martha “Marti” Barrett, who has just retired as superintendent of School Union 38 (Sunderland, Deerfield, Whately and Conway elementary schools, along with Frontier Regional), chose not to have a retirement gathering where the public could acknowledge her accomplishments and thank her for her years as superintendent, a teacher, a principal and a mentor, but instead went throughout the district to visit and personally thank and say “goodbye” to everyone she worked with for so many years.
She did, however, establish a scholarship that will go to a graduate who plans to go into education. You can donate to the Stephen M. and Martha H. Barrett Scholarship and help some of our young neighbors.
If you’d like to make a donation in honor and appreciation of Marti’s hard work, make a check out to: Frontier Regional School Scholarship Fund with “Barrett Scholarship” written on the memo line. Send to: Frontier Regional School, Office of the Superintendent, care of Paula Light, 219 Christian Lane, Whately, MA 01093.
If you have any questions, call 413-665-1155 and ask for Rhonda.
Thanks, Marti, for continuing to give to the youths in Union 38. And, thank you for your many years of service. Congratulations and have a great retirement!
