Shelby Ashline “Way Back When” article featuring the Orange Peals baseball club and action photos of the vintage baseball exhibition players of the Westfield Wheelmen and Orange/Athol Wooden Bat League was very much appreciated by all those in attendance, especially those family members of the original Orange Peals players.
A very enthusiastic thank you and public tribute needs to go out to the originators and planners of this ceremonial project: John Waters of Orange, Rocky Stone of Athol, Kevin Kennedy (Orange Community Development director) speaker and narrator for the ceremony, and recognition of Greg Stone, artist and creator of the Orange Peals original Baseball Team oil painting, which was displayed as part of a special exhibition in 1989 at the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, N.Y.
