Camp Apex — Camp Apex is a day camp for boys and girls ages 5 to 14. The campers are divided into groups by age with a staff/camper ratio around 1 to 6. The children rotate through six or seven activities each day; activities include archery, swimming in a solar heated pool, arts & crafts, nature, field games, playing in the stream or reading. There are four two-week sessions and two one-week sessions this summer. Each session has a general theme that the activities are planned around. “Camp Apex’s Got Talent,” the first two-week session (through July 8), will bring out the best in campers as they show off their talents. Campers will create two minute unique acts and skits similar to the hit TV show and present them at the first family night of the summer. Some of those acts may include singing, acting, dancing, magic and camp appropriate stunts. There is a parents’ night the second Thursday of each session. See “Camps” at ymcaingreenfield.org or call 773-3646, ext. 0 for more info. Financial aid is still available for 2 to 6 weeks.
