Dinosaur invasion at the library

SUNDERLAND — Mesozoic-era mayhem will take over at the town library this week.

A special presentation by Dinoman, an educational show that incorporates lifesized blowup dinosaur props, will be held inside the Sunderland Public Library Wednesday starting at 6 p.m.

The performance is about 45 minutes long, and has been featured in the Wall Street Journal and Los Angeles Times.

Dinoman is a traveling performance troupe, led by Bob and Dayna Lisaius, who are from Vermont. Dinoman’s website states the couple has “been producing shows for the past 30 years.”

According to a news release, the educational show is geared toward elementary school aged children, but is also informative and accessible to people of all ages.

The show will relate information such as the age of the earth, how eras are divided, how fossils are formed, and dinosaur behavior.

Monday night music

DEERFIELD — Residents enjoyed a night of music Monday featuring Debi Spyre, a singer, songwriter and guitarist who plays music in a variety of genres.

The performance was held on the lawn of the Tilton Libary at 7 p.m., and is part of a series of showcases held at the library called “Monday Night Music.”

The events are free and are sponsored by Friends of Tilton Library. The next musical showcase will be held on July 11, and will feature Leo Franceschi, Sadie Ross, Gabby Warren, Alex Hamer, and Piper Pichette, performing in a variety of musical styles.
