Hello neighbor.
Last week, I told you about the Boy Scouts in our area and how you can help, and today, I’m going to tell you about the Girl Scouts of Central and Western Massachusetts.

They are also accepting donation to the organization’s Campership Fund to help send girls to camp this summer. Your donations will help the Girl Scouts offer financial assistance to those who need it, so that every girl scout in this area can go if she wants to.

According to Dana Carnegie, who sent me information about Girl Scouts of Central and Western Massachusetts, new research affirms the overwhelming benefits of outdoor experiences for girls.

In a world with Smartphones, tablets and digital at-your-fingertips everything, everyone needs an opportunity to unplug — especially youngsters. Girl Scout camps offer such an experience.

These girls — some of them our neighbors — will learn how to step up to all sorts of challenges, how to lead and how to solve problems.

Girl Scouting has a long, storied and successful history, so let’s help however we can.
