Greenfield, June 5

11:17 a.m. — Officers on Deerfield Street where a person was on a bicycle and had a positive warrant; arrested was Steven Wade Thompson, 25, of Conway Street, Greenfield, on the warrant.

1:05 p.m. — Disturbance on Conway Street near Hillside Park, where the reporting person states two females were arguing while walking toward Foster’s Supermarket, and described one as a blonde female and another female that has short hair; the blonde was hitting the other female; the reporting person asked her to stop, and then the blonde threatened to hit the reporting person as well; officer sent, but was unable to locate them.

1:40 p.m. — Caller from Oak Courts would like to speak with an officer regarding a juvenile who assaulted his 9-year-old; officer spoke with the parents and the kids, and peace was restored.

3:53 p.m. — General disturbance at the Energy Park at the end of Miles Street where an officer was flagged down taking a report of people yelling at the stage; officers found a verbal argument only and both people were advised to be civil while in a public place, and both people agreed to be calm, and separate.

4:40 p.m. — Larceny reported at Stop and Shop on French King Highway where the customer reported her purse was stolen from her vehicle while she was shopping, she told the officer that her purse was stolen while she wasn’t paying attention; the purse is described as black leather, with a shoulder strap, and gold zipper, and included $100, an LG Smartphone, and miscellaneous credit cards; no security was immediately accessible, but the store manager will look into it, and let the officer know.

8:26 p.m. — Report of fireworks in the area of Riverside Drive; caller reports hearing the fireworks for the past hour and while it is from unknown location, it is possibly the field behind the jail, or the upper half of a Greenfield Gardens; officer located the three people who have agreed to stop lighting firecrackers, and have moved along.

8:56 p.m. — Caller from Little Avenue reports a carbon monoxide alarm is sounding; Fire Department sent, and handling. Found readings were in the basement; building being ventilated; homeowner is advised to have a technician to come out tomorrow to shut down the system.

9:13 p.m. — Disturbance reported at Big Y Foods on the Mohawk Trail where the reporting person states that near the entrance closer to the Colrain Road, it appeared to be two or three teens yelling and arguing; the reporting person was across the parking lot, so couldn’t get a good description; officers sent and found a verbal argument between two parents; situation has been resolved.

9:27 p.m. — Hazard reported on Colrain Road where the caller reports a tree down blocking one lane of traffic; officer went and removed the hazard.

9:34 p.m. — Officer on Deerfield Street to serve a probation warrant; officer has one in custody; arrested was Sharmon L. Power, 47, of Deerfield Street Greenfield, on the probation violation warrant.

Montague, June 5

5:03 a.m. — Resident reported that overnight a stray cat somehow got into her house and scratched her and bit her hand. She said she was finally able to catch it and has it in a tote in her vehicle. She said that the cat has been hanging around the neighborhood for about six months. A call was placed to the emergency vet in Deerfield. Sgt. Laster will be bringing the cat to be put down and the vet will be checking for rabies.

7:59 p.m. — Caller from area of Depot Street and Montague City Road reporting flooding in the area where the construction is ongoing; officer sent and found there is some flooding on Depot Street but it isn’t impeding traffic on Montague City Road; officer will check back later.

Orange, June 5

12:41 p.m. — Accident with injury reported by multiple callers to Shelburne Control that say there is a two-vehicle crash on East Main Street; cruisers, Orange Fire Department and EMS, and an engine have responded; National Grid notified to check the pole involved; New Salem Police to assist with diverting traffic; situation investigated.

8:02 p.m. — Shoplifting reported on East Main Street where the caller says two males just stole a bottle of liquor; officer sent, and under investigation.

11:35 p.m. — Officer located an intoxicated female sitting on the sidewalk by the barber shop on South Main Street; she said she is having difficulty walking home; officer spoke with the bartender at the nearby bar, who said she had left after being shut off; transport was provided for the female and brought into her home by both officers; returned to home or family.

Greenfield, June 6

12:54 a.m. — Reporting person from Pray Drive stated her friend told her to call 911 because she was feeling suicidal and unsafe; officer on scene; Medcare was contacted, and then canceled as the officer will be transporting the person; on the officer’s arrival the reporting person came out of her home, and asked the officer to take her to the hospital, because she was feeling suicidal; due to voluntarily being admitted, no Section 12 was processed.

1:33 a.m. — Traffic stop on Federal Street near Cumberland Farms; investigation leads to arrest of David Cousineau, 28, of Hinsdale, N.H. charged with unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, and carrying a dangerous weapon.

11:07 a.m. – Fraud reported by a person at temporary Franklin County Courthouse on Munson Street; where officer spoke with the reporting person who believes his ex-girlfriend got into his accounts and froze all of them, officer investigating.

11:48 a.m. – Report of fire in a structure on Union Street; all fire units responded, as well as an officer; fire personnel has control of the scene.

12 p.m. – Officer requested at Mattress Outlet on Main Street for an unruly customer; officers sent, and the subject was gone on arrival.

12:29 a.m. – Disturbance on Miles Street where the caller reports a group disturbance, punching, yelling etc., officers responded, and found two known women; disorderly conduct summons being issued for both.

12:57 p.m. – Accident at McDonald’s on the Mohawk Trail, but no injuries reported; officer found that, according to a witness, a pickup truck and a hatchback were backing out of the spaces, at the same time, and bumped tail ends; officer assisted operators in exchanging information.

1:35 p.m. – Caller from the Dollar General lot on Federal Street where the caller says his wife is involved in a dispute over a handicapped parking space there; officers sent, and discussed the situation to a conclusion.

2:34 p.m. – Caller from the NELCWIT facility on Main Street where the reporting person reports needing help because she is having a bad day; options given and then transported to Baystate Franklin Medical Center, to speak with Crisis Services, after the reporting person requested this.

2:37 p.m. – Report of a breaking and entering into a motor vehicle, at Poet’s Seat Healthcare on High Street; officer to investigate, and found a wallet was taken while the owner was at work; report taken.

3:31 p.m. – Caller reports his door is “busted” on Union Street, but after further questioning, the caller believes that someone broke the door; officer spoke with an extremely intoxicated person regarding his door; it is the third time that he called on this subject; he was advised, again, for the third time, that police and Fire Department had to force his door open to deal with smoke; the male hung up on the dispatcher.

4:05 p.m. – Accident reported near Pella Products on Main Street, fire and police responded, ambulance committed, and Engine 2 assisting the Fire Department ambulance; the patient, who was riding a bike on the sidewalk, ran into a car; he was transported to Baystate Franklin Medical Center, via the fire department ambulance. Officer doing a follow-up investigation at the hospital.

5:57 p.m. – Accident at Foster’s Supermarket on Allen Street where the caller says a two vehicle accident happened, but with no injuries; a Malibu backed into a vehicle, a Toyota Avalon, in the lane of travel, causing damage to the reporting person driver’s side door; officer investigating

6:42 p.m. – State police transferring a 911 call regarding the Energy Park on Miles Street, the caller hung up, but had reported that she and her boyfriend were attacked in the park; the report to the state police was that they were attacked by another male and female; officer checked in with everyone at the park and around the park, but nothing unusual found.

Montague, June 6

3 p.m. – Walk-in reports she was involved in a hit and run on the Gill side of the bridge; the vehicle involved was a Vermont Lincoln Town Car, tan, and the call was given to Shelburne Control and they were asked to have Gill Police respond to meet her at the Gill Mobil station; officer will be en route.

5:21 p.m. – Vandalism on I Street reported where the caller says someone has drawn or spray painted a large “penis,” and a “fox head,” on her garage door; the caller is unaware of who may have done this.

6:32 p.m. – Breaking and entering, reported on Avenue A where the reporting person says someone has broken into her apartment, but there are no signs of forced entry; the caller stated she believes someone has a key to her apartment and has come in on more than one occasion; she said a bathroom light was found on that she didn’t leave on; nothing reported missing; she was advised not to touch anything until the officer arrives; officer spoke with the reporting person and she was advised of options.

7:06 p.m. – Illegal dumping reported at Lake Pleasant Road and just off to the side of the road where the caller says he owns a piece of property off the road and someone, at some point today dumped a bed, couch and a futon; no vehicle description or plate was seen; officer spoke with the property owner and he was advised of options.

8:32 p.m. – Caller from Newton Street reporting a violin was stolen from his garage today while he was having a tag sale, unknown who may have taken the item; officer spoke with the reporting person; report filed.

Orange, June 6

9:56 a.m. — Caller from South Main Street left a message on the machine requesting a return call regarding a fraudulent charge on her credit card; officer spoke with the reporting person who explained how there was a $196.90 charge to her Amazon Chase card; this was either done on-line or by phone; the reporting person has cancelled her account, and she was advised this would be logged and she should check her credit report.

11:18 a.m. — Accident on Congress Street where the caller reports a two-car accident but with minor damage and no injuries; a parked car was struck; officer investigating.

4:18 p.m. — Report of a two-car accident at South Main and Water streets, but no injuries; report taken.

11:20 p.m. — Manchester N.H. police were involved in a motor vehicle pursuit on route 78 southbound into Warwick, and they terminated the chase one mile into Massachusetts; an officer here located the motor vehicle traveling southbound on 78 at the Orange/Warwick line, and followed the motor vehicle, monitoring the operation, until state police conducted a motor vehicle stop; state police investigated, and seized a large amount of illegal steroids.

Greenfield, June 7

9:45 a.m. — Trespassing reported at the Bootlegger’s lot on the Mohawk Trail and requests police identify the person living in a car in the lot; the lot owner wishes to have the person in the white car with New Hampshire plates trespassed; officer spoke with a female and advised her of the plaza owner’s request, and advised her of services available for whatever her needs are; she left without incident.

1:14 p.m. — Larceny reported at the Greenfield Public Library where the staff reports stolen DVDs; officer spoke with them and they say a white male, or Hispanic male, by name of Jason, 5’ 5”, with a back pack and flat rim ball cap, stealing numerous DVDs, and possibly selling them to a (named downtown store) under investigation.

1:48 p.m. — Request that police check the welfare of a person on James Street, where a report of a theft of money had already been reported and the same has also already been referred to Triad for support services; the individual was of sound mind.

2:11 p.m. — Hazard reported on Riddell Street where a large branch is down in the roadway; DPW was advised.

2:21 p.m. — Hazard reported on Green River Road at Nicholas Drive where the caller says a tree is on the wires there; officer found it to be phone and cable only and those companies were advised.

Montague June 7

4:31 a.m. — Accident reported at Main and North Street by AAA which received a call from one of their subscribers regarding a tow, and stated he hit a pole; but the AAA operator didn’t know what type of pole; the vehicle was described as a VW Golf and operator reportedly had no injuries; AAA is en route; officer found no significant damage to the pole but Eversource is requested to check on the pole as it may be cracked at the bottom; Eversource ETA is 30 minutes. Tow truck is en route.

2:10 p.m. — Fire alarm reported on Bridge Street in Millers Falls, small lab smoke detector; alarm company called to advise they spoke to a person there on scene and who stated it was a false alarm; Fire Department advised and will still respond, and then confirmed it was a false alarm;

2:18 p.m. — Reporting person says that about one hour ago, on Avenue A, he backed into a vehicle, and there was damage to the other vehicle as well as the reporting person’s vehicle; he stated he didn’t get the plate of the other vehicle, but reportedly left his information with that vehicle; officer spoke to the reporting person and determined this was on private property. Information will be on file in case the other party contacts police.
