CHARLEMONT — A Charlemont man was airlifted to Baystate Medical Center in Springfield after a lawn tractor he was riding lost power and control and then crashed on Burnt Hill Road Friday.
Dana Johnson, director of Charlemont EMS, said the man, whom he declined to identify, was riding to his son’s house on an access road when the tractor went out of control.
Charlemont ambulance transported the man, who appeared to be alert and speaking, to Dragon Hill Road in Shelburne, where the crew was met by LifeFlight paramedics.
Johnson said the man suffered scrapes, bruises and deep cuts to his head and other parts of his body. The incident happened around 2 p.m.
