Turners Falls Fishway open
Spring on the Connecticut River offers an unrivaled opportunity to witness the migration of shad, sea lamprey and other anadromous fish. A visit to the Turners Falls Fishway is free. The Turners Falls Fishway will be open through June 19, Wednesday through Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The fishway is located on First Street, off Avenue A. There’s plenty to see and do.
Cabot Station Open House
Relive history as you walk through the Cabot Station during its 100th anniversary guided tour on Saturday, June 11, and Sunday, June 12. Tours begin at 10 a.m., 10:30, 11, 11:30, noon and 12:30 p.m. Close-toed shoes (no sandals) and photo ID are required. The tour route includes some uneven footing and several flights of narrow stairs. A Cabot Station turbine floor tour, scheduled at noon, is appropriate for anyone with limited mobility. Audubon
Waterfalls, Forests, Ridges and Birds of Royalston will be held June 11 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in Royalston. Meet at Arcadia, 127 Combs Road in Easthampton and travel to Royalston in a van. The half-mile-long hike in Royalston is easy to moderate. You will hike to views of Falls Brook, which drops more than 60 feet over a rocky ledge. You will visit Doanes Falls and there will be a short hike to Jacobs Hill for a vista view. Regisration is required by calling 413-584-3009. The cost for adults is $35 for members and $40 for non-members.
