10:25 a.m. — Officer on patrol was flagged down by a motorist reporting a large bear was seen crossing East River Street, officer checked the area but the bear was gone.

12:15 p.m. — While on patrol an officer saw a female with a known active warrant; officer confirmed the warrant status with Shelburne Control and placed the female into custody; arrested was Ieasha M. Cote, 21, of East River Street, Orange, on the straight warrant.

12:20 p.m. — Shelburne Control reports an attempt at fraud; the reporting person was spoken with, and said they got a call from a person representing American Cash Rewards Co. and the reporting person was told they had won $250 million, and that they needed to send a check for $450 to an address in Pennsylvania; a phone number was provided; the number was called, and went to Google Voice, and then to a connection of a foreign speaking male; the potential victim was contacted by an officer and advised this was in fact, a scam; no personal information had been given out, and the reporting person was advised it would be on record.

12:22 p.m. — A Verizon worker called from South Main Street, and needs to leave their property, but there is a picket line out front; an officer was dispatched, but was canceled prior to arrival.

1:10 p.m. — Caller from Wheeler Avenue reports her car and garage were broken into overnight; officer sent; under investigation.

4:35 p.m. — Control advised a single motor vehicle is off the road on Tully Road; on arrival officer found it was down an embankment and was requesting a tow; the operator was transported to the Athol Memorial Hospital, and the incident is under investigation.

10:45 p.m. — Caller from Hayden Street states she believes someone is trying to make entry into her home; area was checked, but no one found in the area.

11:45 p.m. — Traffic stop on New Athol Road where the operator of a vehicle was known to have three active warrants; arrested was Jennifer L. Luscier, 31, of Grout Circle, Millers Falls, on two warrants from Greenfield District Court, and one from Eastern Hampshire District Court, and for possessing an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle.

Greenfield, May 26

10:27 a.m. — Officers on Federal Street near Liberty Tax building to serve a warrant; arrested was Todd Cromack, 55, of Amherst Road, Sunderland, on the warrant.

12:24 p.m. — Unwanted person reported at a Davis Street location, and officers found the known female left prior to arrival, and located her further north on Davis Street; she is fine, and is on her way to a friend’s house.

1:57 p.m. — Report of someone blowing rocks and dirt into the roadway on Montague City Road with a leaf blower; officer spoke with the resident there, who is cleaning up a large amount of nails, spilled on the roadway by a passing truck; the resident is now using a broom to finish the job.

3:40 p.m. — Call from ServiceNet facility on Phillips Street reports an incident involving a missing person; officer investigating and found the person left the program yesterday; officer called Clinical and Support Options and Baystate Franklin Medical Center, ER, and found the person involved isn’t present at either location; officer then called the cell phone, but it went right to voice mail. the missing person was entered into the regional/national missing persons alert.

5:01 p.m. — Caller from Beech Street reports her grandson was assaulted on the bus ride home from Holyoke; the youth has scratches and cuts on his neck; report issued.

5:09 p.m. — Management of CVS reported a female was in the store causing a scene, knocking items off of the shelves, and screaming at people; the caller said the reporting female in a red top and flowered shorts walked into traffic, stopped in the middle of the road, to dump out the contents of her bag, and continued on while screaming at people; a newer caller said she may have gone into the new Sandri convenience store on Federal Street. Another person indicated she was throwing pill bottles, and taking her clothes off, and is walking toward Cumberland Farms, and then the caller says she is walking into the new store nearby; officer cleaned up the roadways.

6:34 p.m. — Caller from Dominos Pizza on Federal Street said a female is in the middle of the road screaming, and crying and throwing her belongings in the air; officers were unable to locate

9:53 p.m. — Accident reported at Beacon and Federal streets, with possible injuries, officer and Medcare on scene, found minor damage, no obvious damage, assisted with information exchange, and both operators were evaluated by Medcare.

11:34 p.m. — Unwanted person reported at Swift Cleaners where the caller stated there is someone sleeping on the floor under a table; officer sent and the known person was moved along.

11:38 p.m. — Caller from French King Highway stated someone is banging on her front door; officers sent; the reporting person called from in her bathroom said someone was knocking on her door, and wouldn’t say who it was, so she retreated to the bathroom; while on the phone with her she said it sounded like someone had gone into her house because she heard her cat get scared and run off; the house was checked, and all appears secure; spoke with the female, and the interior of the house was all clear.

Montague, May 26

11:28 a.m. — Detail officer working on Turners Falls Road reporting there was a two car accident at his location, but both parties got out and spoke with each other, and then left; no plates known.

11:39 a.m. — Initially reported as a missing 9-year-old from Randall Wood Drive, carrying a back pack with a cat inside the bag, and was riding a dark blue BMX style bike; the reporting female last saw the child 30 to 45 minutes ago; she had advised the child to stay near home, and she had been driving around the neighborhood to attempt to locate the girl; the grandmother then found the bike at the child’s mother’s home; officer confirmed the child has been located; another officer has the bike, and the reporting person has the child and the cat, and they will all be en route back to the reporting person’s home.

4:22 p.m. — Reporting person requests an officer to respond to the post office on Avenue A as her boyfriend has taken her keys and she is unable to move her vehicle; after a short time, an officer advises the keys have been returned and the people involved are remaining separated for a while.

Orange, May 26

7:05 a.m. — Caller from Putnam Street reports a person has their chain saw, and won’t return it; situation investigated.

10:17 a.m. — Caller from East Main Street reports a tent on private property in the woods; officer checked it and no identification was found.

11 a.m. — Control advised they got a call about a car versus a telephone pole crash on Hayden Street near Cloukey Avenue, with injuries; on arrival with officers, the Orange Fire Department Ambulance assessed the operator for injuries, and the vehicle was removed from the scene. National Grid checked the pole for damage; the operator was cited for failing to stay within marked lanes.

1:55 p.m. — Control reports a car with a dog in it and the caller is concerned because it is hot, and found the windows part way down, but the dog was panting hard to stay cool; the owner was found by the officer and he moved the car into the shade and provided water.

7:10 p.m. — Control advises a reporting person says there is a fox that appears to be sickly in area of Holtshire and Chestnut Hill roads; officer checked the area, no sign of the fox.

10:25 p.m. — Caller from Cottage Street contacted dispatch in regards to her motor vehicle being struck sometime late last night or early this morning; the caller said the damage wasn’t there when she went to bed; she was advised to call her insurance company in order to submit a claim for repair.

11:30 p.m. — Report of a tent located in the woods behind the A&O Auto Sales; officers checked the area and were unable to locate anyone; the tent was empty and unoccupied.

Greenfield, May 27

12:04 a.m. — Disturbance coming from Camp Kee Wanee, on Health Camp Road, where the caller says loud music is coming from that location and neighbors are complaining of loud music; services rendered.

12:48 a.m. — Suspicious activity reported at the F.L. Roberts gas station on Main Street where an officer found a male sleeping in his truck, and found the man is homeless due to domestic issues; he was advised to find a more suitable place to rest.

2:19 a.m. — Report of a fight or disturbance at the Worm Town stage; officers responded, services rendered.

2:41 a.m. — Despondent person at Camp Kee Wanee where a person was taken into custody; arrested was Daniel E. Schreck, 23, of Burlington, Vt; charged with malicious destruction of property under $250 value, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, possession of a Class A drug, and possession of a Class A drug with intent to distribute. Also arrested was Tristan Connor, 27, of New Ipswich, N. H. charged with possession of Class C drug.

7:40 a.m. — Accident near Cumberland Farms on Federal Street with air bag deployment but no injuries reported, two vehicles involved. officers and fire department sent; report issued.

7:44 a.m. — CVS reports a female is yelling at the pharmacist at that location, and then the involved female is fleeing from the officer attempting to talk with her; she was located in front of Federal Street School and she went across to Leonard Street while yelling, “stay away from me,” and was last seen at the intersection of Leonard and School streets; officer spoke with the manager at CVS, and found the female left once she was told they were calling for police; no damage to the store or items taken; they don’t wish to trespass the female at this time; a bag of personal belongings of the female were turned over.

8:27 a.m. — Report of a despondent person on Davis Street officers sent, and officer has one person in custody after a short foot chase; she is to be transported to Baystate Franklin Medical Center, on a Section 12 process.

8:49 a.m. — Report of a breaking and entering on Orchard Street; officer responded, and the reporting person states the garage behind this location was broken into over the last few days, and a lawnmower, camera and other lawn care equipment is missing; under investigation.

Montague, May 27

12:57 a.m. — Suspicious activity reported at the railroad tracks on Lake Pleasant Road, and the caller says the vehicle was there for a significant length of time; dispatch made contact with the railroad and they advised there is a train about 15 minutes out, and they will be doing a crew swap at that location; the reporting person was called back and advised of the train and crew swap.

Orange, May 27

9:26 a.m. — Shelburne Control advised that the fire department is responding to West Main Street for a female who has made suicide threats; a Section 12 paperwork was filled out and the female was transported to Athol Memorial Hospital by the Orange Fire Department Ambulance.

4:14 p.m. — Control reports two men claiming to be with a power company trying to gather personal information on Columbia Avenue; officer spoke with the two men and they were advised to cease until they get a permit through the town.

10:42 p.m. — A 911 caller from East Main Street reporting five or six people next door outside screaming and yelling and fighting; a second 911 caller stated his downstairs neighbors are verbally fighting; on officer’s arrival he found two females outside by a small fire, who said they were being loud and obnoxious and meant no harm; they stated there was nobody fighting outside; they were advised of the complaint and to keep the noise down.

10:55 p.m. — Loud noise disturbance reported on Walnut Hill Road where a resident said there was a large gathering of youths that were having a party and drinking in the woods; officers located an underage drinking party of about 50 people, located in the woods; the party was terminated, and peace was restored.

Orange, May 28

1:01 a.m. — Control reports a male is at the ER at the hospital for a dog bite; officers checking, and found the male also had outstanding warrants; arrested was Alexander J. Robideau, 27, of East Main Street, Orange, on three warrants.

3 a.m. — Athol Police requested assistance with a violent female that they were transporting to Athol Memorial Hospital on a Section 12, and the female is attempting to kick out the cruiser’s back window; officers there were able to escort the female into the hospital and she was restrained.

5:40 p.m. — Caller from Red Brook Lane requesting an officer to report vandalism to her vehicle; officer investigating.

Orange, May 29

12:35 p.m. — Resident of West Main Street called into the station to report that sometime overnight a rock was thrown through the back dining room window; the reporting person wanted the incident on record and was given advice on some security measures.

6:38 p.m. — Caller from North Main Street reports a rooster on her porch; on officer’s arrival he advised the reporting person to leave the rooster alone; unable to locate the owner.

6:56 p.m. — Report of a Life Line alarm on West Myrtle Road and on arrival officer found the person had fallen outside; Orange Fire Department assisted, but no transport was needed.

7:20 p.m. — Report of a two-car accident in the parking lot on East River Street, but no injuries reported. Officer sent, and report taken.

8:15 p.m. — Officers on Pleasant Street to serve a warrant; arrested was Benjamin J. Priestley, 46, of Pleasant Street, Orange, on a temporary probation warrant.

Greenfield, May 30

12:22 p.m. — Hazard reported on Mountain Road where the caller says there are two baseball-sized rocks in the road, an officer removed the hazard.

1:p.m. — Report of an abandoned green backpack found by the security workers at the Strange Creek event at Camp Kee Wanee on Glenbrook Drive, and it was turned over to detail officers working at the event; a male came forward and identified the green back pack as his, and the 26-year-old from Conway is being summoned to court for possession of a Class A drug, possessing a Class D drug with intent to distribute, and conspiracy to violate drug laws.

4:35 p.m. — Report of shoplifting at Big Y Foods; officer to investigate, and then is walking outside with one person in cuffs and taken to the station; arrested was John Francis Graham, 26, of Lovers Lane, Greenfield, charged with operating with revoked registration, uninsured motor vehicle, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, and possession of a Class B drug.

6:24 p.m. — Unwanted person reported at Silver Street location where the caller says a male is making verbal threats toward the reporting person and the reporting person has asked him to leave the residence, but he refuses to do so; officer sent and the male left without incident.

7:52 p.m. — Report of repossession of a 2012 Kia Sedona from the Weldon House parking area on High Street.

Montague, May 30

1:37 p.m. — Report of a mangy looking Fox in the area of Dell Street and Letourneau Way; and the reporting person advises an unknown child is following the fox; officer sent, but the search was negative.

3:24 p.m. — Caller from Judd Wire on Turnpike Road reports a fox on the sidewalk in front of this location, and it looks sick; officer initially located the animal in front of Park Villa, but when checking the area, lost sight of the fox; she will continue to monitor the area, and noted the animal does appear sick.

4:15 p.m. — The officer has located the fox at St. Anne’s Cemetery on Turnpike Road, and it has been put down; ACO was notified and advised to bag it and bring it back to the station, and he will pick it up there; it was picked up by the ACO.

9:10 p.m. — Caller reports there is a tree down blocking the entire road, but no report of electric line involved; officer sent and then advised the Montague Center Fire Department is on the scene and moving the tree.

Orange, May 30

10:10 a.m. — Control reports Warwick Police responding to an accident, and the involved person has a warrant and prior assaultive behavior, and they are requesting assistance; officer sent, but the call was canceled prior to arrival.

2:20 p.m. — Control reports a minor hit and run accident in the Wal-Mart parking lot on East Main Street where investigation found one vehicle struck the ball hitch of another vehicle, but no damage found; information is to be exchanged.

7 p.m. — Walk-in reports a larceny of her credit cards, and an officer found this would be due to a male having them in his possession at the time of his arrest; three charges dealing with credit cards will be filed, and the male will be summoned to court.

10:34 p.m. — Loud noise disturbance on Jones Street where the caller reports a tractor trailer unit is idling outside her bedroom window; the owner was advised of the complaint and the operator will park in the dirt lot next to the Tea House for the night.

Greenfield, May 31

12:50 a.m. — Caller from East Cleveland Street states that about 20 minutes ago she saw two teenage boy climb through a house window; officer there advises a possible front screen opened; found to be a family member who was locked out; the female forgot the keys and used the window to gain entry into her home.

12:50 a.m. — Accident reported on the southbound section of Route 91 between Exit 28 and 27 where the caller says he had struck a deer on Route 91, and believes the deer is still in the middle of the road, but unknown damage to his car; the caller has since pulled over in Montague to find front end damage, call was transferred to state police.

8:58 a.m. — Caller from Conway Street requests an officer regarding difficulties has been having with his adult son; officer spoke with the caller who wanted advice on how to obtain a restraining order against his live-in son, he was advised and the caller stated he will be going to court today.

11:14 a.m. — Accident reported at Church and High streets; two vehicles involved, no injuries reported, minor damage, information was exchanged.

11:16 a.m. — Caller from the Bodyshop on Hope Street where the caller reports trash dumped at this location; officer located the owner of the trash who explained that a third person had agreed to dispose of the trash properly, and apparently failed to do so; the owner of the trash will respond directly to the reporting person’s location to remove, and properly dispose of the trash; the reporting person was advised to call police back if this wasn’t done within the hour.

11:29 a.m. — Accident reported at Comcast office on the Mohawk Trail with two vehicles involved, but no injuries reported; information was exchanged.

11:32 a.m. — Caller from the Swift Cleaners on Main Street that a white female with blonde hair, red shirt, and black pants is sleeping on the lawn there; the female was checked by an officer, and found her to be ok, but she doesn’t want to talk to the Greenfield Police Department; however she was trespassed from the property.

12:40 p.m. — Officer investigating a two vehicle accident on Main Street at Court Square, one of the operators admitted to striking the corner of a white box truck, causing minor damage to the vehicle’s passenger side mirror; but the white box truck left the scene prior to officer’s arrival, and the operator of the other vehicle believes the driver of the truck may not have even known that the truck was struck.

1:09 p.m. — A walk-in from Adam’s Donut Shop on Federal Street reports illegal dumping in her dumpster; some assorted household items left next to the dumpster, and the address found in the trash was the name of a person at an upper Main Street address, which is now vacant, and is for sale; under investigation.

2:24 p.m. — Report of a wire down on Smead Hill Road; fire department responding; Comcast and Eversource were both notified; Verizon also then advised while the other utilities were attempting to move the wire out of the way; when the wire was moved out of the way, the fire department returned to station.

2:28 p.m. — Report of a shoplifting at Stop and Shop on French King Highway; officer investigating, but the subject person is uncooperative, and the store trespassed the subject person from the store.

3:33 p.m. — Accident reported at the Route 91 rotary where no injuries were reported; state police on the scene, and they will handle; two vehicles involved.

8:13 p.m. — Disturbance on Abbott Street where the caller says her boyfriend pulled out a paintball gun, pulled the trigger, and nothing happened, but then it discharged, and hit her friend’s purse, who then escalated the situation and began to hit the reporting person’s boyfriend, yelling at him; the female then began yelling and screaming at other people involved; the reporting person stated the female was restrained and is still yelling at the people involved; officers sent, and termed it to be childish horseplay that got out of hand, and was simple assault and battery; they were advised of options; the paintball grenade got on some people’s belongings which caused the argument between several people, and it was resolved at the scene.

8:57 p.m. — Disturbance back at the Abbott Street residence above from where a caller reports a male and female on the second floor are yelling at each other; officers sent and found it to be the landlord having a heated discussion about his tenant’s behavior; he was advised of the outcome of the previous call, as the landlord was concerned about being the keeper of a disorderly home charge; he assured us the noise would be kept down.

9:33 p.m. — Report of a runaway from East Cleveland Street, reported as a missing person; officer located the male in Shattuck Park, and transported the youth back to his residence; he was hanging out and talking on the phone in the park, and he stated he just needed to get out of the house for a bit, and was returned to foster parents.

Montague May 31

7:49 a.m. — A 911 caller reports a two-vehicle accident, but no injuries reported, at a four-way intersection at Turnpike and Turners Falls Road. Both vehicles were towed, and the operator of one vehicle was given a verbal warning for failure to use care in an intersection.

4:24 p.m. — Caller from Central Street reports she overheard three men, one of them a tenant in the building, talking on the porch and making references to the reporting person; the caller stated one male made a comment, that, “she should be put away,” and reportedly also mentioned a gun; officer spoke to the reporting person and she was advised of options.

5:09 p.m. — Call from the same apartment building on Central Street where the reporting person was calling on behalf of a friend; the reporting person from the previous call, and the reporting person stated, the friend is “terrified,” that the landlord she reported was making threats toward the female; officer previously spoke to the friend, and gave her some options; officer explained the same options to the current reporting person, and will be en route to speak with the landlord, and other people involved. The officer spoke with a man there (the other two men weren’t present) and the man stated that none of the three males were speaking to or about the reporting person; no mention of threats or a gun were reportedly made; he stated that whatever the woman heard, was overheard by eavesdropping; he was also given options.

Greenfield, June 1

12:58 a.m. — Officer on patrol came on about 25 people gathered at Freedom Credit Union on Main Street, where, it was determined, they were waiting to take money out of the ATM machine.

3:50 a.m. — Caller from Elm Street requests a welfare check on a male in the middle of the road in front of Greenfield Gardens where the caller states the male may possibly be intoxicated, but she isn’t sure; the female states the male attempts to stand up, but keeps falling; roughly in his 30s or 40s, wearing shorts and a T-shirt; officers sent, and the male was given transport to his home; his bicycle was transported to a Wells Street location.

7:59 a.m. — Report of a wire down on Abbott Street; Fire Department responding; services rendered.

8:29 a.m. — Hazard reported on Mountain Road where the caller reports a person is spraying vehicles as they pass, the driver was startled; officer found the location on the Mountain Road, and spoke with the resident who reported new trees were being watered from the other side of the embankment, and the incident was accidental; however, the officer then reported to dispatch that he was advised of another situation, and said the reporting person who advised the officer pulled over and spoke to the woman who sprayed his windshield, as he drove by doing the speed limit; the female at the residence stated that she was just watering her garden but the male was speeding anyway.

8:53 a.m. — Traffic stop on Mountain Road where the officer stopped a motor vehicle for a speeding violation.

10:01 a.m. — Larceny reported at the Department of Children and Families on Munson Street, where the caller claims an iPad was stolen from the reporting person’s office; the reporting person states the last time he had his state issued iPad Air was on Thursday, 5/26/16; the iPad Air is engraved on the back, “State of Massachusetts,” and no other identifying marks. Officer investigating.

11:25 a.m. — Request that police check the welfare of a person at the Weldon House; the caller from Catholic Charities reported the elderly woman usually calls when she leaves home; she is unable to be reached; the woman was located, and found that she had gone out shopping.

Montague June 1

10:20 a.m. — Caller from Franklin Street reports about 10 minutes ago a black bear crossed through her yard; the reporting person no longer has a visual on the bear and believes it has gone into the woods; officer checked the area, but was unable to locate the bear.
