Hello neighbor.

Shelburne Grange Fair Committee is reminding us that it’s time to start thinking about the Shelburne Grange Fair – and for that matter, all of the other upcoming fairs. It’s not too early. Fair season will be here before we know it.

Are you planting seedlings, tending that favorite house plant or putting seeds in the ground in anticipation of a big, award-winning pumpkin? Keep the Shelburne Grange Fair in mind.

If you’d like to enter something – or know that you’ll want to – visit: www.shelburnegrange.org and click the link to the fair.

If you don’t have a green thumb, that’s OK. You can enter any contest from baking to canning to stewing. There are contests for artwork, photography and even a LEGO category.

Entrants can be any age and you don’t have to be a Grange member to enter.

This year’s fair will be held on Aug. 27. It’s the fair’s 70th anniversary, so the committee is planning a big celebration. There will be lots of favorites returning, and few new things.

Exhibits will begin arriving on Aug. 25 and 26, and you’ll be able to get your pre-fair barbecue tickets at a reduced rate. The fair is held at Fellowship Hall in Shelburne Center.

Mark your calendars!

Have a great weekend and see you Tuesday.
