11:50 p.m. — Despondent person reported on Wells Street where the female reporting she is highly intoxicated and taking medications, which she stated she isn’t supposed to mix, and is now feeling suicidal; the reporting person stated she wished she could, “drink myself to death.” Medcare to stage nearby, and the woman told officers she is depressed and mixing alcohol and pills in order to harm herself; she was taken to the hospital by Medcare, under a Section 12 process.
9:52 a.m. — Reporting person called from Turners Falls Road to advise she had a bear in her backyard last night, but she turned on an outside light, and it scared the bear away.
12:16 p.m. — Caller from Turners Falls Road reports that someone opened a National Grid account in her name; service will be going to an address in Lawrence; the caller has already called National Grid to cancel the service, but she was advised as she is not technically a customer, they can’t provide her with any documentation; officer called her back and advised her of options, and advised her to flag her credit if she had not already done so.
2:52 p.m. — Accident reported in vicinity of Farren Care Center on Montague City Road; multiple calls reporting the two-vehicle accident; first caller didn’t have a visual, but subsequent callers advised of occupants being out of the vehicles and walking around; no apparent injuries, and no visible smoke or fluids, but when officers were on scene, they requested Turners Falls Fire Department for some fluids; after investigation, both vehicles were towed; services rendered.
4:44 p.m.— Larceny reported from Norman Circle where the caller reports stolen prescriptions item; the reporting person believes this happened on Thursday or Friday, as she has been looking for it since then; officer contacted the reporting person by phone and she was advised of options.
6:02 p.m. — Caller from near the fish ladder where the anonymous concerned citizen advised the gate to this location is wide open, and the reporting person believes the gate is only open Wednesday through Sunday, and is usually closed at 5 p.m.; the reporting person said there is no one seen in the area; officer contacted Firstlight, and this is something they will look into, and no further assistance needed.
12:04 a.m. — Despondent person reported at Clinical and Support Options on High Street where staff reports one of their residents is having delusions, and mental health issues; the staff was advised he was in the living room area, next to the kitchen, and staff advised the only available weapons were the knives in the kitchen; officers arrived on the scene and walked the male to the ER at Baystate Franklin Medical Center; the male was very cooperative.
3 a. m. — Traffic stop on Federal Street by the Cumberland Farms facility; officer then reports having one person in custody, and requests a female officer for a search; female is en route to the station; both people in the vehicle were placed under arrest for warrants and suspended operation; arrested was Kimberly Ann Hathaway, 27, listed as homeless of Greenfield, charged with motor vehicle lights violation, possession of a Class A drug, and operating with suspended license; the second arrested person was Anthony Mark Dewdney, 35, also listed as homeless, here and in other jurisdictions, on three warrants.
9:30 a.m. — Accident reported at Main and Federal streets, but with no injuries reported; three vehicles involved, under investigation.
9:47 a.m. — Caller from Taylor’s Tavern on Main Street reports their dumpster filled with household items; report issued.
11:57 a.m. — Fraud reported by a walk in from area of Elm Terrace, where the caller says that an agent of “Liberty Power Co.,” on May 16, attempted to have the reporting person’s daughter transfer her power provider from Eversource to Liberty Power Co; the agent didn’t produce any identification when asked, and was going door to door in the area of Oak Courts; he was then told they were not interested and was asked to leave. Today, the reporting person’s daughter was contacted by Eversource and advised that a request was made by Liberty Power Co. to change her service; the reporting person advised that the signature on the Liberty form wasn’t that of her daughters, and the form was never signed by her; the rep wanted the item logged as a public service; walk in report completed.
2:55 p m. — Fraud reported on Sullivan Lane where the caller says she signed some form for gift certificate from Liberty Power, and recently found out that they have gained access to her Eversource account and have changed her power from Eversource to Liberty Power, and would like to talk with an officer about her options; found to be a Liberty Power scam, she signed a tablet for two free gift cards which the company can access her account through “Edison.” Liberty is now saying she owes $250 in connection fees; the company does sound operational she said, but her rate is going up 20 percent on her electric bill, she was advised of options.
2:59 p.m. — Accident on Elm Terrace where the caller says a n FRTA bus backed into her vehicle at this location; she is at an appointment with her client, and won’t be back until 3;15 p. m.
4:11 p.m. — Disturbance at Main Street and Fiske Avenue where the people are drinking in public, and disturbing the patrons; the Fire Department advising possible fight on Main Street at the benches; local downtown folks, intoxicated and being loud, no fight involved and they were all moved along for now; no fight, just erratic behavior that will persist until the benches are removed.
5:12 p.m. — Accident reported on Federal Street near the Vehicle Inspection Center; caller reports two-car accident but no injuries reported, and only fluids leaking; officers and Fire Department sent; fire command requests Medcare for a person with a finger injury; one vehicle towed, report filed.
6:13 p.m. — 911 silent call, but the caller then came on line stating a known person was making threats to her and kept saying “watch your car,” and the reporting person then left the community meal at the church at Court Square and found her car covered in food; the caller says a person wearing all black threw the food on her car; officer investigating.
7:41 p m. — Walk-in from Barber Avenue reporting an assault by her husband earlier today; the involved male wasn’t located, and a probable cause for arrest was issued, and an emergency 209A order was granted; report filed.
9:45 p.m. — Report at River Street and the Mohawk Trail that a small fox was struck and killed, and was moved from the roadway.
10:23 p.m. — Request that police check a person on Shattuck Street, as Crisis Services of Greenfield was calling and advising they got a call from a distraught male identified as the female person’s husband, who states, “his wife has locked herself in the room and has a piece of glass.” Officers sent, and requested Medcare to stage short; and they were then requested to come the scene, and then canceled, as an officer transported the female to Baystate Franklin Medical Center; the female had superficial lacerations to the wrist; she was upset with Clinical and Support Options, and agreed to go to the hospital.
11:50 p.m. — Disturbance at Taylor’s Tavern, where the caller states there is an active fight happening inside; the reporting person advises it is two white females, both blondes, and roughly 27 years old; both females wearing tank tops; caller advised the females now moved outside; officer advises one trooper also on scene; and the people involved were moved along.
8:11 a.m. — Reporting person inquiring who she should speak to regarding her daughter being bullied at the Franklin County Technical School; the reporting person was advised to contact the school resource officer.
1:18 p m. — Vandalism report at Swift River Hydro Electric Building on Canal Street where they reported a past breaking and entering, at that location that happened last week; the reporting person advised several windows were smashed, fire extinguishers were sprayed, etc.; officer investigating found about 30 windows were smashed and 10 extinguishers were set off.
2:31 p.m. — A 911 caller was abandoned, but then called back on the regular business line reporting a sick looking fox in front of her residence on George Avenue, and it was last seen walking toward Millers Falls Road; the reporting person believed the fox was sick because it had a mangy appearance and tried to eat a dead bird; area search was negative.
