GREENFIELD — A Vermont man faces drug-related charges following an arrest at the StrangeCreek Campout music festival on Friday morning.

According to the Greenfield Police Department’s Facebook page, Daniel Schreck, of 199 South Union St. in Burlington, Vt., was arrested and charged with possession of a Class A controlled substance, possession of a Class A controlled substance with intent to distribute, malicious destruction of property under $250, disorderly conduct, and resisting arrest.

At approximately 2:30 a.m., officers assigned to the three-day music festival held at Camp Kee-Wanee saw Schreck make a possible narcotic transaction near the main stage. Schreck pulled away from the officers and attempted to run away, tripping over a tent, damaging it. He tried to continue to avoid arrest and fought with the officers before being subdued. Officers found ketamine in his possession and as well as $2,435 and other paraphernalia on his person. Ketamine is an animal tranquilizer used as a recreational drug for its dissociative properties.

Schreck was taken by MedCare to the hospital for evaluation due to possible ingestion of drugs.
