CHARLEMONT — Selectman Beth Bandy readily won re-election to a second term, and eight other incumbent town officials were re-elected Tuesday night.
Voter turnout was light with 111 out of about 840 registered voters coming to the polls.
There were no races, but several write-in votes for the seven vacant town board seats.
The Planning Board had three seats without candidates on the ballot. Planning Board incumbent Carlene Hayden was re-elected for a two-year term. But Bill Harker received the majority of write-in votes for two of the three Planning Board seats — a three-year term and a one-year term, while Dan Miller had nine write-in votes for a one-year position as Planning Board associate member.
Other incumbents re-elected to three-year terms were: Jacqueline Cashin for Board of Assessors; Erwin Reynolds for Charlemont School Committee; Evelyn Locke for Mohawk Trail Regional School District Committee and also for library trustee; and Erwin Reynolds Jr. for constable.
Three incumbents were re-elected to the Board of Health, with Trice Hyer to serve a three-year term, Douglas Telling for a two-year term and Robert Lingle for a one-year term.
Stephen Reynolds was re-elected to a one-year term as tree warden.
No one was on the ballot for a one-year term as moderator, but Robert Handsacker received 20 write-in votes while longtime moderator Charlotte Dewey received 17 votes for the position. No one received write-in votes for a five-year term on the Parks and Recreation Commission.
