GILL — The search for a person who may have jumped into the Connecticut River from the French King Bridge Wednesday afternoon will resume on Tuesday, when divers will be able to safely enter the water, Gill Police Chief David Hastings said today.
Gill Police came across a suspicious unattended vehicle in the bridge parking lot around 1 p.m. Wednesday. State police assisted in searching with a helicopter and boats, but conditions are too dangerous for divers to enter the water.
Further search efforts came up empty handed Wednesday, Hastings said. The suspected victim’s family members retrieved the vehicle, he said.
Police said Wednesday there is no reason to believe the incident is connected to the search for Tyler Haigmeier, the Plymouth murder suspect whose vehicle was located near the bridge earlier this month.
