Kudos to The Recorder — Jenny Abeles, writer, and Matt Burkhartt, photographer — for the excellent feature on Young Shakespeare Players’ production of “Romeo and Juliet.” When I attended my first YSP show, I was astounded by the talent and skill of the young players. I couldn’t believe my eyes and ears! I would have considered it a “professional” grade show if presented by adults, but the fact that the thespians were aged 7 to 18 was stunning. If you’re reading this before the second and/or third weekends of May, I hope you’ll get yourself and your loved ones to YSP. You’ll be glad you did. And the fact that there’s no charge to attend is doubly astounding — a true treasure in our midst.
