2:18 p.m. — Caller from Cheapside Street reports his wife is on the phone with a possible scam and she has already given them money; officer to call; the reporting person provided $500 cash to a “Publisher’s Clearing House” scam based out of Jamaica.
2:34 p.m. — Reporting person calling from the Winslow building on Wells Street states there is a lot of yelling coming from this location and he believes there is an ongoing disturbance between two people; officers sent, but all was quiet on arrival and no answer at the door.
5:27 p.m. — Caller from Linden Avenue reports suspicious activity and says it is a possible theft of a motor vehicle, and also believes he may be the suspect who was slashing tires on this street last month; the vehicle in question belongs to the involved male, and no further action was required.
5:29 p.m. — Suspicious activity reported at Poet’s Seat Tower and the tower road, where the caller says four to 10 people were smoking pot in vehicles; officers found no one in the area, gone on arrival of police.
6:11 p.m. — Caller from area of the benches at Main and Miles streets reports a female punched a male and then came after him; but the male denies any injuries, and she is still on the benches; the reporting person says the woman threatened him and wanted to fight; threats only made, and an officer found no physical altercation; she was located, spoken with, and found her intoxicated; she was sent on her way with no further incident.
7:32 p.m. — Male caller on a 911 line said, “my food stamps aren’t working,” and then hung up; officer to call the DTA (Department of Transitional Assistance) tomorrow.
9:18 p.m. — A 911 caller from the Valero gas station/store on the Mohawk Trail reports that a young man came in twice, joking around about wanting money in a bag; the caller asked him to leave, and then contacted her supervisor; the suspect purchased cigars, and the clerk still has the receipt; the reporting person confirmed that she thought it was a joke, but was forced by company policy to report it.
10:48 p.m. — Despondent person reported at Aster Court, from where the caller is reporting an involved female is sending him pictures of herself cutting her arm; MedCare and police were dispatched; officer states the female admitted to cutting herself and taking medication; she was transported to Baystate Franklin Medical Center for a Section 12 process; the female stated she took 17 Trazadones, and showed superficial cuts on her arm; she stated she was a no-show to an appointment with Crisis Services this morning. Section 12 paperwork was filled out at the hospital.
1:34 a.m. — Traffic stop on Oak Courts where officers are out with state police with two detained at this time, where drugs were located; four people under arrest; Larissa M. Howard, 30, of Oak Courts, Greenfield, charged with being present where heroin is kept; Mariejo Lauture, 22, of Green River Road, Greenfield, charged with being present where heroin is kept, conspiracy to violate drug laws, and an expired inspection sticker; Rufus M. Thomas, 35, of Berkshire Avenue, Springfield, possession of a Class B drug, possession of Class D drug, conspiracy to violate drug laws, and being present where heroin is kept; and Demetruis Del-Tray White, 31, listed as homeless, of Greenfield, charged with possession of a Class A drug, subsequent offense, possession of a Class B drug, subsequent offense, conspiracy to violate drug laws, and possession of a Class A drug, to wit, heroin with intent to distribute
8:52 a.m. — Caller from Forbes Court reports a purple mountain type bike stolen; a “Mishiki” 21-speed, stolen Friday night while parked in the hallway at a Forbes Court.
11:46 a.m. — Caller from Avenue A says she is a caretaker for her uncle and she said the uncle had connected with a woman on Craigslist regarding the woman giving the uncle transportation to the Registry of Motor Vehicles. The woman showed up and gave him a ride, and during the course of this they had a conversation regarding some valuables the uncle had; the female reportedly offered to take the items and saying she could get a lot of money for them; they did load some items into the woman’s car, but later on when the reporting person learned of the situation, she contacted the woman who stated she doesn’t have the money, and agreed to return all items, but hasn’t done so; police investigated, and in the end the woman agreed to return the items to the niece.
8:13 p.m. — Caller from the Moltenbrey building on Avenue A reported getting threatening phone calls and texts from a male who lives in Athol; the male was supposed to purchase a car from him, but decided not to, and since changing his mind, the male has been belligerent, including threatening to show up and punch the reporting person in the face; the reporting person was advised to contact police right away if the male did actually arrive at his residence and to block the male’s phone number if possible.
7:31 a.m. — Traffic hazard on Turnpike Road near the Turners Falls High School where the reporting person says there was an erratic operator and the vehicle passed the reporting person in a long line of traffic on a double solid line, driving very erratic, and at a high rate of speed; the vehicle turned into the high school, then came back out, headed toward Millers Falls on Millers Falls Road; an officer stopped the vehicle, and the officer spoke to both the reporting person and to the female operator, who was advised of the complaint, and the severity of the issue, and was given a verbal warning.
9:30 a.m. — Office received a report of larceny by check; under investigation.
10:30 a.m. — Report from Lake Mattawa Road that an eagle was in the water, and is caught up in something, and is in distress; officers sent, but nothing found, gone on arrival of police.
12:01 p.m. — Caller from near the dog park reports that at night, a car keeps doing donuts in the sand parking lot at the dog park, and creating ruts there; he requests extra patrols of the area; the reporting person was advised of camera surveillance.
2:48 p.m. — Shelburne Control advised the reporting person is requesting officers to respond to her East River Street location where she is having a verbal altercation with another person; on arrival, the officer spoke with the people involved and discussed the situation; peace was restored.
5:45 p.m. — Control got a call from a reporting person who says a known person is walking down the railroad track; investigation leads to arrest of Ashley Doucette, 24, of West Main Street, Orange. charged with walking or riding on railroad tracks.
2:44 a.m. — Officer checking a vehicle at the Lunt Building off Federal Street where a male was sleeping in the driver’s seat of the motor vehicle; the male is night security for the building.
4:31 a.m. — Unwanted person reported at the Weldon House where the caller says a male was laying down in the lobby entrance on the Union Street side of the building, sleeping; the female caller stated she saw him when she went to do some laundry; officer sent and it was found to be a female laying down next to the doorway; she stated she got into an argument with a male staying in one of the ground floor locations; officer contacted the male who stated the female had been drinking and started a verbal argument, and that’s when he asked her to leave; the female states she has been staying on Wells Street and was moved along.
8:53 a.m. — Accident reported at Silver and Davis streets, two vehicles involved, but no injuries reported; DPW was caller and advised of two signs knocked down; report issued.
1:17 p.m. — Report of found property when a member of the post office personnel dropped off two wallets that were found in post office boxes, one black leather, and one brown leather wallet. They were given codes in the property room.
4:21 p.m. — Fraud reported by a walk in who reports her significant other has been withdrawing money to the sum of $2,026.56 dollars without her authorization; the husband and wife are separated and soon to be divorced, but the husband has been withdrawing the money for about six months, and the reporting person was advised to go to probate court to settle the matter.
7:19 p.m. — Caller from Taylor’s Tavern on Main Street reports two females just took off without paying for their meals, both described as white females, one wearing a gray sweatshirt and gray yoga pants, and gray boots, the other has a tri-color floral top; dine and dash, two younger females, 17ish, brunettes, ran out on a $31.10 dinner bill; Taylor’s manager only requesting attempts to locate; officers checked the area, unable to locate.
8:35 p.m. — Caller from Arnold Lane reports several males looking into the windows attempting to gain entry, they took off in a van down Plain Road; officers found the house secure, and advised the two males with flashlights could have gone in any direction.
9:07 p.m. — After several stops without result, officers are now on Bouker Street to serve a warrant; arrested was Zachary R. Hutchinson, 23, of Bouker Street, Greenfield, on the warrant.
9:57 p.m. — Unwanted person reported at Oak Courts where the caller states she would like the male removed; the reporting person is afraid of the subleter, due to him is screaming at his girlfriend (her cousin) in the past; she was advised of a 209A, and eviction options, no crime reported.
10:53 p.m. — Accident at Deerfield and Cheapside streets, where a caller says a scooter was hit by a motor vehicle, and both on the scene, with a male having heavy bleeding from the head; officers and Medcare en route; Medcare advises LifeFlight isn’t flying, and they transported one patient to Baystate Franklin Medical Center, accident investigated and report was filed; operator of the vehicle was issued a citation; and the 20-year-old from Turners Falls Road in Montague will be summoned to court for operating with suspended license.
7:31 a.m. — Report of a Michels Power vehicle that was broken into overnight; this was called in by a detail officer on the scene at Depot and Eleventh streets; an officer spoke to an employee on scene, and he said the driver’s side window was smashed, and items were taken; report taken.
9:24 a.m. — Illegal dumping reported at Court Square and Taylor Hill Road where the reporting person stated that within the last week there was been a large amount of trash showing up on the sides of the road, bottles, cans, coffee cups and general trash; the caller didn’t see a vehicle this may have come from; she was advised an officer will look into it, and in the future, if she, or any neighbors, see anything, they should call the police department; call was placed to the DPW and they will have one of their guys check the area.
11:38 a.m. — An employee of Couture Brothers on Avenue A reports he noticed a blue Nissan Altima in their parking lot, with a male slumped over the steering wheel; when the reporting person approached the vehicle and knocked on the window, he stated the male seemed startled awake; the reporting person says he noticed needles in the vehicle; he stated the person drove out of the lot going south on Avenue A, toward Cumberland Farms;
BOLOs were issued to Greenfield, and state police to check their side of the General Pierce Bridge, but no vehicle or operator were found.
1:22 p.m. — Walk-in reports an assault at the Turners Falls High School and he says that about two weeks ago, he was at the front of his class when he was struck in the head, with a ball of clay, the size of a golf ball; the name of the involved student is attached to this report; the reporting person stated this incident was reported to the school administration, and said there have been other incidents involving this student; he is looking for his options; report taken.
2:37 p.m. — Accident on Avenue A, near Greenfield Savings Bank, two vehicles involved, and both were towed; one operator was cited for failure to use care in turning; officer transported one male to G Street.
4:27 p.m. — Accident near the Country Cremee on Avenue A where two vehicles were involved; one operator stated he was backing out, and struck another vehicle; this was on the 2nd Street side of the location; no injuries reported, and no smoke, or fluids; the reporting person’s vehicle is a rental, but both vehicles were insured.
4:43 p.m. — Caller on a 911 wireless line advised a non-emergency, but she said she found a syringe by the dumpster on 4th Street when she arrived home; the reporting person was provided the business line for future non-emergency calls; officer was notified and will pick up the item.
6:09 p.m. — Reporting person on First Street at Unity Park report a verbal altercation among six to seven people, males and females; the reporting person states there was one white female with blond hair, and believed the rest were black males and females; the reporting person advised some of the group were getting into a maroon colored, four-door sedan, with big rims, possibly a Honda, and could be seen pouring out what appeared to be liquor; the rest of the group left on foot toward Avenue A; the reporting person had gone outside to put out her trash, and could hear this, than advised there was some pushing and shoving, along with threats to shoot each other; the reporting person couldn’t see any weapons; officers checked the area, negative findings.
11:20 p.m. — Female caller reporting that $120 was taken from her safe today, the reporting person believes it was taken by her son’s father; officer spoke with the reporting person and reports that it could be one of three people that took the money; still investigating.
8:25 a.m. — Accident near Dunkin Donuts on the Mohawk Trail , but no injuries reported; an officer assisted in the information exchange.
11:48 a.m. — Accident at Wilson’s employee lot on Davis Street, but no injuries reported,; it was a single vehicle accident into a cement pole, but the vehicle sustained major damage, and it was towed.
12:41 p.m. — Caller from Wells street reports a female attempted to get into his backyard through a locked gate on a fence, and the reporting person got her to leave; she then went to his neighbors, and she tried to bite her way through the cover on the back of his truck, the reporting person says she was last seen walking north on Wells on the west side of the street; she was described as a white female; wearing a black and gray sweatshirt, with dark hair; officers found an intoxicated female cutting through back yards in attempt to get home; no damage found to any homes or vehicles; she denied looking into or going into cars; no crime found.
12:53 p.m. — Accident reported at Vernon and Cleveland Street; two vehicles involved, officer checking and reported no assistance needed; minor damage, information was exchanged.
2:40 p.m. — Despondent person reported at Iris Court by Health New England personnel who states the involved female keeps calling this location stating she is feeling suicidal, that she has been drinking large amount of vodka during the day, and keeps hanging up the phone after a few minutes of calling; officers spoke with the woman and her caseworker, and while the woman is disgruntled, she states she has no intention of harming herself; she didn’t want to kill herself, and she agreed to eat some food and get some rest; she advised she had consumed half of a vodka drink today.
2:53 p.m. — Walk-in person reported drug activity in his home, and would like advise on what to do about it; officer spoke with him and advised him of options.
3:27 p.m. — Incident involving a missing person; the reporting person says her son didn’t come home from school today, and she says the school told her that her son was picked up by MASS rehab; officer spoke with MASS rehab, and confirmed the reporting person’s son was picked up from Greenfield High School, by them, and is currently at the GCC Downtown campus, at a class he may enroll in; the information was relayed to the reporting person, who was very upset that this happened without her knowledge, or consent; the involved male is 19 years old, but does have mental disabilities.
6:34 p.m. — Suspicious activity reported at Home Depot on the Mohawk Trail where the store manager has questions about dealing with squatters on the property; they were provided information and he is going to get no trespass orders through the sheriff’s department.
10:04 p.m. — Caller reports something that sounds like gunshots and a male screaming on High Street in area of ServiceNet; an officer is in that area and nothing was heard or found.
10:05 p.m. — Another call from the same area reports he believes he heard gun shots and somebody yelling in the area; officer in that area didn’t hear or see anything.
1:48 a.m. — Officer at the Industrial Boulevard location of the Ja’Duke Center for the Performing Arts and found an open door on the side of the building, and requested a second unit; officers found the front door was unlocked as well, officers made entry; owner was contacted, and he advises that his son has a studio in the building, and has been known to be in and out at all hours; the owner will secure the building; no other action needed if nothing is found; the vehicle in the lot belongs to an employee; officers cleared, building was secured.
4:09 p.m. — Reporting person advising of continuing harassment and threats from the same male reported in an earlier call; the reporting person stated now the male’s brother is also texting him; the reporting person stated he is taking a trip, and the people involved are stating, “you’ll never make it.” The reporting person was transferred to an officer; the reporting person later called back with the phone numbers of the people involved, and they were passed to the investigating officer.
4:34 p.m. — Caller from East Chestnut Hill Road complaining about goats that belong to a named male; the reporting person stated the goats have been in his yard, eating his wife’s flowers, and everything else they can get to; the reporting person advised he has walked the goats home today, so there is no immediate issue, but this was a problem two years ago, and the reporting person is hoping to address the situation before it becomes a problems this time; he was advised the animal control officer was at a training session today and a copy of this will be left for him to follow up on when he returns.
8:20 a.m. — Control advised of a call from a business on Dukakis Drive, where the caller states there is a female walking around the building acting suspicious; officer located the female in front of the building; after speaking with her, the Orange Ambulance was requested to respond to transport the woman to the hospital.
11 a.m. — Control requesting officer to respond to Dewey Conrad Avenue to speak with a person that keeps operating a vehicle that has a safety rejection sticker; on arrival the officer spoke with the registered owner, and he was given a verbal warning for the violation.
11:30 p.m. — Motor vehicle violation of South Main and East Myrtle streets where the vehicle was stopped for defective equipment, a tail light, and investigation leads to arrest of Devin Michael Hurlburt, 24, of East Howe Street, Orange, charged with motor vehicle lights violation, for the tail light, miscellaneous motor vehicle equipment violation, the exhaust, operating with revoked license, subsequent offense, and for operating a motor vehicle after his or her license or right to operate a motor vehicle had been revoked by reason of his or her having been found to be an habitual traffic offender.
8:24 a.m. — Caller from area of Main and Conway streets requests police check on a female at that location, a white female, black jacket, ponytail, crossed the street several times, and appeared disoriented; second caller reports the same; area was checked but the female was now walking with a male. All appears ok.
9:36 a.m. — Caller from upper Wells Street reports a white female with long black hair with blond ends, wearing a black sweatshirt, dark colored jeans, and boots, and has a larger build; the caller says the female is looking into cars, and under cars, running around, and walking in the tree line; area checked, unable to locate.
9:46 a.m. — Caller from Wisdom Way reports a female looked suspicious in this area; the caller was delivering oil to a house there when a male dressed all in camo, in a jeep, began a verbal dispute with the female; the caller attemped to intervene, and the male began to yell at the caller, and then drove off; the caller states the female is walking toward the fairgrounds by Petty Plain Road; officers sent, unable to locate vehicle or female walking.
12:29 p.m. — Call from the Franklin Regional Transit Center on Olive Street where the caller reports of receiving a text from an involved male showing a picture of his wrist, with a self inflicted laceration; the male was located, with no injuries, but showing the self inflicted wound; he was transported to Baystate Franklin Medical Center, by Medcare.
