MONTAGUE — Town voters only have one choice for an open seat on the Board of Selectmen in Monday’s election.
Incumbent Christopher M. Boutwell Sr. is running uncontested for the three-year term. This will be his third term on the board.
Boutwell lives on Sunset Drive in Turners Falls, his home of about 30 years. He grew up in western Massachusetts and is excited to continue serving the community.
He said he would like to see the Strathmore, a complex of abandoned mill buildings in Turners Falls, transformed into an income-generating venture.
A developer is working on plans to turn one of the buildings into condos, but several abandoned buildings remain.
Boutwell has served on town boards for more than 20 years, including the board of health.
Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Precinct 1 residents vote at the Montague Center Fire Station, Precinct 2 residents vote at the Highland School Apartments, Precincts 3 and 4 residents vote at Hillcrest School, Precinct 5 residents vote at the Senior Center and Precinct 6 residents vote at the Police Station.
