Start Smart Baseball: Start Smart Baseball is for children 3 to 5 and teaches children the basic skills necessary to play organized baseball while spending time with their parents. All participants leave with their very own baseball kit. Tuesdays, May 17 to June 21, 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Greenfield Swim Area. $45 Residents, $50 nonresidents.
Movies In the Park: Join the Greenfield Recreation Department for a free showing of “The Peanuts Movie” on May 20 at Beacon Field. The movie will begin at dusk, between 8 and 8:30 p.m. Arrive early for the best viewing spots. Pack a picnic, bring a blanket, sit back, relax, and enjoy the show! Save the dates for the rest of the summer shows at the Swim Area: June 24th, “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”; July 22, “Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl”; Aug. 12, “The Good Dinosaur.” The series will end back at Beacon Field on Sept. 23 with “Zootopia.” Movies in the Park are sponsored in part by the Safe Schools Safe Streets Coalition, Franklin First Federal Credit Union and Wright Builders.
Babysitter Certification: This babysitter training course for 11 years old and up will teach participants basic safety skills when it comes to caring for a child and what parents expect from a babysitter. The course will run on June 6 and 7 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Participants must attend both days. $52 residents, $57 nonresidents. Registration deadline is May 31.
Learn to Play Tennis: Sign up today for our Free Learn to Play Tennis Clinic. Come learn some of the basic techniques to play and score tennis. All youth participants completing one or both of these sessions receive a tennis racquet and can of tennis balls. Sessions held on Sunday, June 5 from 2 to 3 p.m. and Wednesday, June 8from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Davis Street Courts. Register at least one week in advance. Space is limited.
