GREENFIELD — A series of bicycle-related events will be held throughout town next week in celebration of Bay State Bike Week, which runs from Saturday until May 22.

The Franklin Regional Council of Governments will hold a breakfast at the John W. Olver Transit Center on Tuesday, giving members of the community a chance to meet other bicyclists and share thoughts on bicycling. The FRCOG will also feature information about bicycling in the region, and copies of the Franklin County Bike maps, highlighting routes within the eastern, central and western areas of Franklin County, will be available.

The celebration will take place from 7:30 to 10 a.m. at the center, 12 Olive St., and will feature coffee, juice and light breakfast fare.

The Franklin Regional Transit Authority will also have a bus that is equipped with a bicycle rack available for attendees to practice loading and unloading their bikes.

Other bicycle-inspired events will also be taking place throughout Franklin County during the week.

There will be free bike tune-ups and a sampling of outdoor, activity-friendly food and drinks in the Green Fields Market parking lot Tuesday at 3 p.m. along with a drawing for a bike basket full of healthy snacks.

The annual lunch at Bicycle World, 104 Federal St., will be held May 20 from noon to 2 p.m., with food provided by People’s Pint.
