GREENFIELD — The Color Vibe 5k run, helping to benefit the United Way of Franklin County, is set for Saturday at the Franklin County Fairgrounds.
According to a press release from the organizers, “Color Vibe encourages community members to get out and get active, both physically and in their community, by providing a fun and inviting vibe that people of all ages and fitness levels can be a part of. A portion of the proceeds from the event will be donated to the United Way of Franklin County.”
The course, where participants can run, walk and even dance, follows sections of Wisdom Way, Petty Plain Road, and Meridian Street. Sections of those roads will be closed from 8:30 to 11 a.m.
“Along the course, at four color stations, volunteers cheer participants on as they ‘tie-dye’ them with colored powder made of corn starch and food-grade dye that is 100 percent safe, biodegradable, and easily cleaned up.
“At the finish line participants take part in a celebration hosted by a professional DJ/MC. Local businesses/organizations are welcome and encouraged to be a part of the celebration.
According to organizers, there are a limited number of spots left. For more information, including running as an individual or forming a team or volunteering to “tag” participants go the Color Vibe 5k website at www.thecolorvibe.com/greenfield.php.
