Tee Ball

Tee Ball is for ages 5 to 7 (must be 5 at the start of the program). Players will learn fundamental skills and good sportsmanship through confidence building drills and activities along with scrimmages. Saturdays, May 7 to June 11, 8:30 to 10 a.m. at Lunt Fields. $30 residents, $35 nonresidents. Volunteer coaches needed.

Buddy Baseball

Buddy Baseball begins Saturday, May 7 and runs through June 18 from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at the Greenfield Middle School. This program is for boys and girls with disabilities, where each player will have a peer buddy to assist with skills the player cannot perform. Buddies and coaches are needed for this program. $25 Residents, $30 nonresidents.

Start Smart Baseball:

Start Smart Baseball is for children 3 to 5 and teaches children the basic skills necessary to play organized baseball while spending time with their parents. All participants leave with their very own baseball kit. Tuesdays, May 17 to June 21, 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Greenfield Swim Area. $45 Residents, $50 non-residents.

Movies In the Park

Join the Greenfield Recreation Department for a free showing of the Peanuts Movie on Friday, May 20 at Beacon Field. The movie will begin at dusk, between 8 to 8:30 p.m. Arrive early for the best viewing spots. Pack a picnic, bring a blanket, sit back, relax, and enjoy the show Save the dates for the rest of the summer shows at the Swim Area: Friday, June 24, “Star Wars: The Force Awakens;” Friday, July 22, ”Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl;” Friday, Aug. 12, “The Good Dinosaur.” The series will end back at Beacon Field on Sept. 23 with “Zootopia.” Movies in the Park are sponsored in part by the Safe Schools Safe Streets Coalition, Franklin First Federal Credit Union, and Wright Builders.

Learn to Play Tennis

Sign up today for our Free Learn to Play Tennis Clinic. Come learn some of the basic techniques to play and score tennis. All youth participants completing one or both of these sessions receive a tennis racquet and can of tennis balls. Sessions held on Sunday, June 5 from 2 to 3 p.m. and Wednesday, June 8 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Davis Street Courts. Register at least one week in advance. Space is limited.
