DEERFIELD — One person survived a heroin overdose in Deerfield this weekend after a police officer used Narcan to revive them.
Officer Jennifer Bartak responded to an unknown medical emergency at the Red Roof Inn on Routes 5 and 10 around 6:26 p.m. Sunday, according to the Deerfield Police Facebook page. Upon arrival, she noticed the victim appeared to be overdosing on heroin and immediately used the overdose reversal drug, reviving the victim.
South County EMS brought them to Baystate Franklin Medical Center in Greenfield.
The incident was the second time Deerfield Police have saved a person’s life using Narcan.
