We are told that the “crowd roared” when feminist icon Gloria Steinem showed up at Northfield Mount Hermon. Do the kids even know who this leftist relic is?

Before she was the co-founder of “Ms.” magazine, Ms. Steinem had an abortion at age 22. “It (abortion) is supposed to make us a bad person,” she said. “but I must say, I never felt that. I used to sit and try and figure out how old the child would be, trying to make myself feel guilty. But I never could! Speaking for myself, I knew it was the first time I had taken responsibility for my own life. I was going to direct my life, and therefore it felt positive.” For Ms. Steinem, killing her child was a feel-good achievement!

Solon columnist Camille Paglia liked her at first, but “was dismayed by the direction that Gloria Steinem’s career took.” She was turned off by her “snide and condescending tone about men.” When President Clinton got caught with his pants down, Paglia said, “Steinem was caught in blatant hypocrisy when she gave Bill Clinton a free pass for his gross violation of fundamental sexual harassment principles in inducing a young intern, Monica Lewinsky …”

Paglia had called Mrs. Clinton a “fraud” and a “liar,” which she is, but Ms. Steinem admires her and wants her to be president. Ms. Steinem doesn’t care that Bill Clinton has been sexually assaulting women for decades. He lied and cheated on Hillary over and over, but she defended him, always, and of course, attacked his accusers. And Ms. Steinem approves.

I know she has delighted liberals since the sixties, but really, Gloria Steinem is a terrible role model for young women. And so is Hillary Clinton.
