ROWE — A Whitingham, Vt., man was charged with driving under the influence of liquor, second offense, following a reported hit-and-run accident Friday morning.
Chris Valerio, 46, was arrested at roughly 3:05 a.m. on Readsboro Road after Rowe Police Chief Julie Shippee encountered Valerio parked on the side of the road in Rowe and called state police. There had been a report of a hit-and-run near the former Yankee Rowe nuclear power plant.
State police arrived to administer a field sobriety test and determined Valerio was under the influence of liquor.
There are also pending charges of possessing an open container of alcohol and leaving the scene of an accident involving property damage.
