GREENFIELD — The Better Greener Living Show will offer a number of workshops by Greening Greenfield and others this year, including one on honeybees, a heat pump that seems to work magically and a tiny house on wheels.
“It’s exciting,” Greening Greenfield member Nancy Hazard said. “We had such amazing interest this year that we wanted to offer a choice during each time slot.”
The show will be held at the Franklin County Fairgrounds on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days. The Better Greener Living Show combines a home show and green fair. Admission is free.
There will be more than 40 vendors representing a wide range of products and service — everything from green living, home supplies and energy alternatives.
Participants will be able to choose from 16 workshops divided into two tracks: Home & Energy or Yard, Agriculture & Food.
“They’ll all have to do with living more lightly on Earth,” Hazard said.
Workshops include heating with wood, permaculture, cover crops, biking with kids, green burial, backyard chickens, building a net-zero energy home, rain harvesting, beer and cider making, going solar and more.
The Franklin County Chamber of Commerce has been doing the show for many years, according to Hazard. Greening Greenfield joined in by bringing green workshops four years ago.
