AMHERST — The University of Massachusetts Amherst police are looking for two people who allegedly were involved in an assault and attempted robbery.
The assault took place on Monday at about 9 p.m. outside Moore Hall in the Southwest Residential Area, according to a police alert posted Tuesday evening.
“The victim reported he was knocked to the ground and believed the suspects were going to take cash from him but were unsuccessful when he ran from the area,” the alert read. “No weapon was shown and the victim did not require medical attention.”
UMass police said one of the suspects had facial hair and an afro and the other wore shorts, an orange hat and a brown heavy jacket with a gray jersey underneath.
